Hello everybody,
While browsing present and other RC tank forums/sources, I got this impression (just can't find the spot anymore
) that HL has recently released some modified models (Leo, Abrams?) that are improved by controls - replaceable freq. crystals instead of previous freq. position switch and proportional speed control instead of prev. 2-level?
Please correct me if I happen to mix things with Marui or others, but any comments/info about HL latest releases/modifications would be highly appreciated before I start bugging online sellers!

Mato-toys on ebay have these Heng Long tanks in stock, everything from basic to smoke, sound, metal tracks, custom paint and so on. Good luck.

It looks like any model else (T-34, Pershing, Walker Bulldog etc.) BUT Leo or Abrams with modified controls are available at least at Mato's...
Then again, a control set itself is available separately that looks quite proportional to put it this way...[8D] It's called [link=http://www.matotoys.com/canada/product_info.php?products_id=91]"smoke and sound electronic set".[/link]

The tanks available from HL in 1/16 scale are:
Tiger I
M26 Pershing
Panther
Walker Bulldog (latest release)
These come in various guises; standard (basic model), smoke & sound, and those upgraded to be "Super" versions with metal gearboxes, metal tracks, etc.
All of these come with multifunction two-stick transmitters with interchangeable crystals and the smoke & sound have proportional speed control.
The T-34 is from another manufacturer/conglomerate known as WSN/Trumpeter: http://www.tankzone.co.uk/cart/trumpeter_16.htm
There has not been any noted change to the 1/24 scale series of which you speak (Leo/Abrams). Those, to my knowledge, still retain the old pushbutton controllers with a stepped speed control (one button is fast, another is faster, etc.).

They do make a "Panther", and they can call it whatever they like even though it may appear to be a pager or more akin to a toaster with tracks.

HL doesn't make a panther. They make a pager.
