hi guys
I have been looking at buying the 1/16 tiger tank from mato toys, the one that has sound and smoke, but have been looking around the forum here and see
that some people have had some probs with theres and some havent? so my question is should I buy the tank or save my money?
any info on these would be great? also do they come with a battery charger or would I have to buy one from like radio shack or something?
Thanks guys

you should be pretty happy with a ss(smoke and sound) tiger . make sure to get metal gears and parts are available should anything go south. I've really beaten up my tiger and had no big probs. You'll love it!!! If something does go bad just look to this forum for help. the support here is beyond helpful. there is always several here to bend an ear and offer excellent advice. Dont be afraid of HL's, the new smoke and sound tanks are pretty decent. keep us posted.

battery charger is included, i think mato still includes the 2100mah battery upgrade with there super version. as the 1700ma batteries come stock but are not that good. get the super version of the tiger the metal gears sound great and are quite strong in my experience.

You shouldn't have to buy extra fluid, meaning that they usually include a bottle of smoke fluid with each HL tank. And you can actually turn the smoke unit off via a switch in the battery compartment.
If you decide that the smoke function is not something you care to use, please be sure to switch it off as it represents a noticeable drain on the main battery and otherwise running it dry or empty could cause some problems (unit could burn out).

I've got an HL tiger, where in the rear is the refill hole. I see smoke coming out of the two tubes. Do I squirt the fluid directly into those tubes? Just got the tank the other day and I feel its running out of fluid. Don't wanna burn out the smoking unit.. thnx

The only problem with HL SS super tiger I got from Mato was with the metal tracks. The tracks kept going off from the idler wheel, and repeated throwing of the track made it permanently useless.

You hit the nail on the head. Seems counter-intuitive but yes, you refill the smoke generator's reservoir by squirting (or I should say by adding drops) the smoke oil into the "exhaust pipes" or two tubes at the rear.
There have been numerous posts here regarding improving the smoke output. One is as simple as removing the excess "batting" in the smoke unit itself. I think i shall give that one a try...
