Default Metal Gear box help

I got my metal gear boxes from Mato Today a whole 2 days early.
Got my electronics hooked up with my mixer and I noticed one gear box doesnt turn as easy. I can feel a binding in my gears someplace I caint see it but sure can feel it. What should I do. I was thinking of running them using my drill at a slow speed till they Loosen up. Or should I do something else?[]

Metal gearboxes sometimes need breaking in. Prop the tank up so the tracks are off the ground and run it for an hour or two.

Rather than start a new thread I thought it best to use one already on topic.

I have fitted a set of metal boxes to a Tiger 1, one side did need beaking in as it was too stiff but its sorted.

Problem I have is I notice the gear box output shafts that penetrate the hull(where drive wheel connects) seem longer than the standard ones. Hence the drivewheels now sit further outboard and slightly out of line with the idler etc. The drive wheels are fully pushed home etc.

Is this normal? tank drives ok but risks throwing tracks of course. I can easily rectify just more intrested if this is normal or not????????

Can't say I had this problem.

Looking face on, the drive sprckets are about 3 - 4 mm away from the side of the hull.

Maybe you could use small washes behind the roadwheels and idler wheel to push them out slightly so they line up.

Also my T1 kept throwing it's metal tracks but adding metal suspension arms seems to have sorted this out.
