Tamiya High Pitched Whine
I've noticed (and so has my dog!) that when I turn my Tamiya Tiger on there is a very high pitched whine. If I unplug the speaker it stops. Is this a fault with my speaker, part of the normal sound effects, or a fault with my set-up? Anyone else with this 'problem'?

RE: Tamiya High Pitched Whine
This is a normal effect due to PWM (Pulse Width modulated) power supplies which eminates a frequency around 48kHz present in all Tamiya tank electronics.
It will be audible without the motor sound turned up.

RE: Tamiya High Pitched Whine
Hi all. Sctually I believe what is heard when you turn on the power switch is the muzzle flash unit building a flash charge. You will hear the same thing with an electronic flash unit for a camera when you turn on the power. I have 3 Tamiya tanks and all 3 make the same sound when powering up. I do not think it is anything to be concerned about. I just always thought of it as the tank was powering up making ready for battle and combat weapons systems coming on line. ok, ok ok, maybe nothinng so dramatic but it sounded good when I said it. LOL
