Default Tank Protection Idea

Would it be helpful to connect an in-line fuse between battery and electronics/elec. motors to help from any frying action that might occur during heavy battles? I know Marui or ICS have this in their high end air soft guns. What amp fuse would safely protect a HL 1/16 tank if feasible? Electronic Specialists...need your input...Thanks.

Measure the amp draw from your motors at load and double the currant to figure a safe Fuse size. If both motors are pulling 500Mah eash then a 2 amp fuse would be ok. Now do you know how to test your motors to see what they are pulling in amps? If not you have to use your mulitimeter and run it inline with your motors while they are running at load. then you will get a Amp reading. I dont think you would pull to much amps. and if you did go over the Limit Your board will get warm. Wasted Amps makes watts and watts can get things very hot. AS long as you arent binding your gears you shouldnt be pushing your motors to the limit. Now if you have ESC"S in your tank you would most likely have a Currant limiter in that esc. a auto shut off if things got to hot. RC Cars and trucks do this because they are running as fast as they can and have motors that can pull more amps than a battery pack can give out. But Like I said in a tank I dont see that it would be necissary.

ah64, Your tech information is well explained and I feel that I have a better understanding on how such problems could occur. Thanks ah64 and all other members for your technical input.
