Default What Next?

I was sitting here thinking about all the tanks I have, then it occured to me. What does a person do when they have all the tanks that they could have wanted? After detailing and electrical modding what next? I'am in the proccess of modding my Tiger 1 and after I think I will be getting the Strumtiger. I don't battle my tanks since I appear to be the only person in a 50 Mile radius of my zip code that is into R/C Tanks. Just thought this was something that someone else might have thought about. Thanks Anthony.

I have only been in this hobby for a little over a year, but when I retire I hope to have enough knowledge and expertise to get a brokedown bobcat skid steer loader and re-build it into a Tiger 1 that I can drive! Oh yeah, go ahead and laugh, but I would take it to scenario paintball games and terrorize all the teenagers running around! Now THAT would be fun!

This is a hobby I only recently gotten into (just over a month), and loving it! I currently own only two tanks but waiting on a third. I'm also currently installing metal arms for one and repainting the next. As for other mods that I had thought of doing eg fans, etc, I've decided to leave as much of it as stock but just installing splash/dust shields for light mud and water action and changing detaills like the tiger barrel (rotated but not extended yet).

Originally, my idea was to get introduced to this new hobby but it has taken up most of my attention and time Which is an absolute blast, and nothing major has malfuntioned so its a bonus! My dogs loves chasing my rc buggy but they run when those tanks fire up![sm=devious.gif] I must stress however, its the sound they're not sure of, and not from getting shot at ... From a safe distance, they just look at it deviously hehe.

For me, my next move will be towards the 1/8 tanks. I originally wanted to move to Tammy's but I might as well just go 1/8 from a cost effective view.

After that, I'm not sure. Most likely I will try to build one from sctratch like yours. At the moment I enjoying repairing, but not motivated enough to scratch build

Hi Anthony
I come from the RC electric airplanes world, and think that the tank hobby is much more relaxed and rewarding than its cruel and costly airplanes counterpart
Your quote "when they have all the tanks that they could have wanted" is for me totally wrong, I NEVER shall have all the tanks I want...[>:]. Think of the Tigers, Panthers, Pz IIIs, PzIVs variants, just a mere 20 tanks talking of 1:16 scale and without going in deep...and that's just for Axis tanks!, then there are the allied tanks, cold war ones, Vietnam war, today models, aaargh!. And they don't crash like airplanes, so you can always re-work or re-paint them....Think of it as a never-ending story, enjoy
Regards
Jose

After you've done what interests you, you move on to something else. I originally bought the tanks to drive around and shoot. Then I decided to upgrade the gun and tank for paintball wars through wireless cameras, and that has been a big project. At the same time I've gotten into detailing and painting the tanks and that's also immensely gratifying! So far I'mn at 10 tanks with my eye on two more for the near term. Will I paint and detail them all? I'd like to, but what about those paintball tanks? I wanted to set them up for shooting on a prepared battlefield, 4-5 tanks per side. Time will tell. My oldest just came back from a field trip to Washington DC, she's going to help me with the airsoft upgrades, I've been putting off the testing until she's available.

Die very happy.

It also means I'll die very very old becasue there's so many tanks and conversions I want to do.

ah64,
You need an RC helicopter! Learning how to setup, trim, operate, repair, and mod a heli is a great way to calm your nerves and save money. You won't have time to spend money on any other hobbies because you will be too busy learning how to setup, trim, operate, repair, and mod your heli. And just think about how calm you will be due to all the money you'll save......
