RE: HOLY MOLY!!
I may be wrong (and probably are),but I think the small one is 1/4 scale.
The big one is probably wood and static.
I know there is a guy in the UK that makes 1/2 scale wooden models of military vehicles,it was on a program on the telly called supermodels a couple of years back.He had a whole barn full of them.

That's nothing. Did you see this Sherman? http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5491145/tm.htm
The builder even offers construction details in additional videos.

The larger one is indeed 1/2 scale and the smaller one is 1/4. The large one was made by Peter Shaw and both he and the 1/2 scale tiger were featured on supermodels. As well as his hand made 1/1 scale SdKfz 250 halftrack and 1/4 scale king tiger.

RE: HOLY MOLY!!
I saw the videos of the 2/5 scale sherman, pretty awesome indeed. My ultimate goal is to build a 1/2 scale Tiger like in the pic, but have it driveable like the sherman. You could use an old bobcat skid steer loader as a base for the propulsion and turret. I would imagine the track links would be hard to get, but there are solutions to every problem. Imagine the look on peoples faces at the paintball field when you come out of the bushes in that thing!...[X(]

RE: HOLY MOLY!!
Sorry I've lost the link for that too uhu, but I remember watching some video of it moving...
They did an awesome job on the body and turret, but what the hell went wrong with the tracks and wheels?!!! Look at the pic you posted of the sprocket, could that metal be any thinner?!! [X(]
However, still be pretty cool to have in your back garden
