Hi fellow tankers
Wondering whether you experience the same. My first order to BYA was a bit tough. I find that corresponding with BYA is difficult. One thing is their slow response to mail. Though I only ordered minor item (40 bucks worth of item), but I believe that doesnt justify they can ignore my mail (been waiting for two days for a reply to shipment confirmation and received none so far). One may say they probably busy ... but stuff like confirmation to "payment has been received" or "item has been shipped" should've been a standard practice for someone doing business through the net...
Not expecting things to get expedited, but it would be nice to be informed for any delay... issue and stuff. Maybe Im just impatient but... kind a make me think twice to repeat order...

No, he does have a full time job and sometimes that does get in the way. I have done business with him many times before (over the past 2 years) and don't expect an email each time.

I emailed BYA twice but got no response for 2 weeks. My patience finally ran out. I just purchased a set of 1/15 PzIV tracks & its suspension upgrade from its supplier Kenny. He
gave me some discount too. Service was great.

Keep an eye on the elapsed time. Depending on how you paid, you will still be able to cacnel the order. I orderd once using PayPal, and was too nice and missed the cut off date. BYA will most likely deliver, you just need to decide how long you want to wait.
BTW, were the parts listed as being in stock? Did you have any contact before the sale?
Thanks

BYA filled my order and the stuff arrived at my door without any communication after the sale at all. I emailed him once and never got a reply, but the stuff I ordered showed up.

Backyard has always come through for me. I agree about the emails though. They emailed me a few days ago and said the package was mailed and it arrived on the same day.

My only dealing with backyard took 40 days and a claim filing to get my stuff. No communication until i filed against them. I am amazed they are still in business.
Now i just get my stuff from the UK. I often sell stuff and have a job, that's not an excuse. When you take money, you better live up to it.

I ordered four things a couple of weeks ago. All shown to be in stock. I received three of them within a week. Not bad considering the distance between us. However, communication was slow. I had to ask about the backordered item since it was never mentioned. I'll see how long it takes to get it before I consider ever buying from him again.

Thanks to all for sharing their experience. Atleast now I understand how BYA does business, kind a help me prepared not to expect too much on the communication [
]. Also glad to know that I can still be assured that order is normally delivered as promised.
Too bad they don't put emphasis on customer relationship, coz most of the products that they offer have lots of potential.
To KSOC,
Yeah the item I ordered was in stock (and it still does). I made contact once (after repeated mails ... 2 times actually), it was asking whether he had received my order. My last mail never get answered, and I don't even bother to ask again now....

I just had a really good experience with BYA. I e-mailed to ask about availability of a part they were out of stock with. Got a response the next day. Finally ordered some stuff and received a confirmation e-mail two days later saying it will be shipped tomorrow. No parts in hand yet but I'll keep you updated.

I enquired once about a large scale tank from BYA which was obviously thousands of dollars we are talking about and it took 3 weeks to get a reply. After that there was no way in the world I was going to order anything from them let alone something so expensive.
Generally i try to communicate with companies before I make a purchase especially if there's a fair bit of money involved, but even then there's no guarantees that you will get the same service once you have the item.

Follow up. I requested a refund on a backordered part via e-mail. The money was refunded and an e-mail received within 24 hours. All in all Im happy with BYA and would do business with him again.

I did for the Pershing, but that was back in June of last year!
The last time I posted some pics of what I was currently working on, some boob found humor in the fact that I had made an assault weapon a battle ready tank and blasted me for it. Then at the same time from another boob from Va. about how he didn't believe in IFA's (invincable frontal armor).
Besides, this board shows more interest in HL's than Tamiya tanks. Just look at all the posts. [&o]

Here's a few old pics from my photobucket account. The Sherman has been repainted and the Pershing will soon be. I was trying for a Korean War look but it never did draw any favorable nods. The Sturmtiger has been finished and included here are a few shots from the War Room.
