I think it is detailed enough already, provided that you glue on all the detailing parts they give you. I don't think the plastic is ordinary polystyrene, so cement made for plastic model doesn't stick very well. I used Plasti-ZAP CA on mine.

Using Zap on mine to, I plan on assembling mine with the parts it came with, then I will see if it needs anything else.

If you actually plan to play with it outside in dirt and brush, any photoetch would probably be knocked off eventually. My Bulldog has parts missing already from scraping on sticks and rocks.

If you want to find out more about detailing a T-34, check out the DAK site

http://web.mac.com/ethandunsford/iWe...20Project.html

These guys started out as scale model builders who got into RC Tanking. They build 'em pretty, but they don't sit on the shelf....

Thanks - that site was really good ..

Ive just recived my T34 today ( 8 days from US to Sweden - thats really fast ) - the first impression is good detail - looks better then a HL tank straight out of the box ( did not like the engine grill - have to fix that with some real mesh ) , and I have to open a few hatches .

However the extremly noisy turret motors and the boring double stick stering, and a bit to much speed to be realistic ...... not that good - thank god that Ive ordered an extra HL smoke and sound uppgrade ( ordered the first one for my jagdpanther ) ... that will surley make it better ..

I really like to make a russian tank - they really did not care so much about rust and stuff like that, so I can go a bit crazy with the damages and the weathering

Had some plans of making some extra armour plates on it but it seems like the russians only did that for a while on the T34/76 , but then they realized the tank got to heavy = slow - so they just stop that ... so my T34/85 should not have any .... the only thing I could do is making a meshlike struction on the turret sides ( the russians used to weld old bed frames there to stop the Panzerfausts knocking them out ) , but thats just too ugly ..

Hi - since im still waiting for my uppgrades to my Jagdpanther ( metal tracks S/S uppgrade ) , so I have been starting out with my T34 a bit , fist I placed some fiberoptic in the Mg ( is there supposed to be a Mg in the turret as well ??? ) , and that was a bit hard since the original barrel is about 2 mm in diameter ( tough job making a hole there ) .

I have also started to open a few hatches - comandercupola , the rear engine hatch ( gonna place all the switches there ) , and im planning to open the other hatch on the trurret .

I replaced the fake plastic mesh on the engine with some real mesh - looks so much better...

I also made the comande , and Im working on the driver ...
A happy surise was that the drivers hach did open ( did not know that )

Planning to get the Hl gun in there later + the S/S uppgrade .... Im waiting for metal tracks and metal suspension - bit suprised that the drive whell dont seem to be avalible in metal ... bit worried about durability with plastic drivewheel and metal tracks ...
Im hoping that the terrible turret gear noice will be reduced with 7,2 volts batteries ...

Hi Jonasvem,

I'm waiting for a T34 to show up at the door any time ( they say today on the Fedex tracking site) I was showing my wife your pics to show her what the tank was going to look like, and what she said was look at his wook area it looks just like yours, M&Ms, beer glass and tools all over the place. I said hey thats Modeling know matter what country your from. The door bell just rang and it is fedex with the tank 5:00 pm on a Saturday, NICE. got to go, got a box that needs opening. Your tank looks great.

Yeah - Im fortunate enough to do most of my modelling in front of my TV ( that beer glas was acctually containing water - for once ) .... like to sit there - it works perfect for me since Im always getting stuck on details, and have to stop and think for a while
( = watching TV ) , so I can get the tank as I want it .....

Forgot in my last post .... I managed to get a metal gerar upgrade as well ...

Im just wating for all my uppgrades to get to do some real tinkering on the T34 .... hopfully in will be here in next week [sm=idea.gif]

Good luck on your T34

Jonas ( by the way - jonas is my name .... jonasvem is a combination with all my names Jonas Vilhelm Emanuelsson)

Hi

Have now done some remodelling on My T34/85 - after checking pscartozzis Su-100 thread ... I got some ispiration ..
I did some chassie stiffening ,and since I already had one pare spare HL gear box I decided to try and use it -(metal upgrade to be done later ) .

Im also gonna change the turret gearboxes , it did not sound any better with 7,2 volts running them so.... the turret gearboxes sounds like when my cats are fighting with foxes at night ....

Hey Jonas, nice job! I almost went that way with my gearboxes. I like the angle pieces as well, I'll have to do that. Keep it up and keep posting.

I have metal gears with my T34-85, switched over the electronics to HL S&S and I use a smoker on top of it!

The tank has slowed down just enough and it's still faster than my Tiger I but then again everything in real life was faster than the Tiger I!!

Yeah , but the tiger did not have to be fast - it didnt have to run away ... The biggest problem I currently have is getting all the S/S stuff inside = TIGHT fit ... Im also gonna change all the turret gears to Hl ( recived them today ) .... should be much more quiet ..

This is where I got it - but that was only set 1 .... I have asked the seller - and he could deliver set 2 as well ( for more money naturally ) .... for some reason he delivered 1 extra pair of suspensionarms in set 1 ...

Hi - I have now done some more All the electronics is now at its place and in working order ......

It sure got tight , so I had to flip the gun to the side ( to make more room in the lower hull ) , and I had to make some remodelling on it to make it fit - cut away a lot of plastic ....

Changed all the turret gears to HL - sounds much better ...

I also placed a cpu fan on the boards ( air intake trough drivers hatch ) , it got so tight in there so im a bit worried about the heat ...

Made my own 7,2 v battery - the standard one just would not fit in there ...

The smoker was a bit tricky , had to place it behind the gears , and since the exhaust is on the upperhull I had to make it possible to take apart ...

I had to place the speaker on the rear engine grill , so I had to make a separate 2 pin connector for the speaker - don wanna have to unscrew the board every time I open the tank ...

Planning to make a separate 3 pin connector for the turret as well - for easy accsess ...... did the T34 have a parralell turret MG ???

Have yet to do the connection between the lower and upper hull , but all the led:s , turret motors , firingmotor is tested and working as it should ...

I still have to do the pellet feeding for the gun , and place the gunswitch , but Im pretty sure how Im gonna do it - have to open the other hatch on the turret ...

Have yet to recive the second set for the suspension , but Im not in a hurry - its summer time ....

Jonas
