Tamiya IR combat question

Here's a question to the guys who have been using the Tamiya system for a while in group battles. What rules do you use? 3 strikes your out or a time limit and count the number of tank KO's ? If your tank gets stuck or the turret stops working is it tough luck or can you fix it? Do you call a time out or drive your tank to the edge of the battle field for repair? I am sure you have seen it all after a number of battles

Once the battle starts all players should keep off the field until it is over. If your tank breaks down or has a malfunction it must continue the battle with its handicap. When I was at Danville my tank lost a track, so basically I was a pillbox. This has happened to many. It makes for a more challenging gameplay. You can of course make up your own club rules, but I feel having no interference while the battle is in process is a good rule.
Once a tank is knocked out it should remain as such until the battle is over, generally one shuts the transmitter off. The settings should follow what Tamiya recommends as far as light, medium and heavy settings. Some may argue how to classify certain tanks but once again your club can make its own rules.

I agree with Nick on preserving a battlefield. I've only went to two battles so far (one for SCAT and one for DAK) and I'm hooked.
Every battlefield has areas that are "riskier" to drive on, in terms of damage to your own tank from the terrain. When we battle, tanks that are disabled (usually due to track issues) become pillboxes. Dead tanks stay dead when killed just once, and stay on the battlefield with transmitter off. The only exception we have is for tanks that roll or go into a deep gully. Generally, the tank is recovered immediately with the broken parts...

Good info, thanx guys, I will have to discuss things with our club members and decide on a set of guidlines. I do like the 'battlefield' rules where things are not touched unless we see flames or something, if its broke in battle it stays broke and you deal with it.
