The thing is what they are doing is not e-legal.They can charge what ever they want.Even here on the RC UNIVERSE for sale pages,I seen a add for a HL tank for $500.00.There is no HL tank worth $500.00 dollars.I e-mailed the fraud address and RCU sent me back an e-mail stating that you can advertise your Items for any price you want, that this person had not violated any of there addvertising policys. It was all legal as far as they were concerned. Its illegal in Canada/US, as per the following eBay Listing Policy:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...umventing.html

Unreasonable shipping or handling costs - The seller may add a shipping and handling fee to the final price of the item, but may not charge excessive shipping and handling fees, excessive required insurance fees, or excessive (or not applicable) taxes in an effort to make the item appear artificially inexpensive, to avoid eBay fees, or for any other purposes. A shipping and handling fee may cover the seller's reasonable costs for mailing, packaging, and handling the item. Shipping and handling fees may not be listed as a percentage of the final sale price. Please see the complete [link=http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-shipping.html]Excessive Shipping and Handling[/link] policy for more details.
Then read the examples. You can set any damn price you want, but we are discussing SHIPPING fees, not sales prices.

If you don't report them when you see them, you are part of the problem, so do not whine when you get skinned on shipping.

I had a seller explain to me she had to charge excessive shipping cost so she did not have to pay high final value fees...interesting!

smart racer:

Report her SR. Thats ~ecactly~ the reason its illegal. Its called " Fee Avoidance " and if you forward that e-mail to eBay, they may suspend her seller's rights immediately pending her revision of her pending auctions. That ot they will watch any further auctions, and di if if they do not comply.

The OTHER reason these guys (and gals, apparently) do it is so when they have to cough up a refund (often in the case of DOA HL's and other cheapies) they don't loose a cent, they made their profit on the postage, which is NOT refundable.

Bottom line: If you do NOT report them, they will continue to get away with scamming both YOU and eBay.

Don't whine about if you aren't willing to take action to stop it.

[/end rant]

Sorry guys, but this is a real pet-peeve for me on eBay. I'd ~almost~ go as far as to actively hunt these jerks/jerkettes but I don't have the time to waste. My other peeve is feedback hostaging. (can explasin if you want)

still if the item is 2 bucks, and shipping is 20 bucks, and its worth 22 bucks, then i have no problem. if its 2 bucks and shipping is 100 bucks and the item is worth 22 bucks, ya no deal.

I posted this before but for the new guys information most raidentec's come broken, in the early days I ordered 2 and both came broken, one was fixable the other was smashed, the shipping box was fine so it was packed in a smashed condition. If you send it back you pay $20 shipping and then they refund your original purchase price minus the shipping, so the refund cost me $40 despite a promise to make good on the shipping. My advice is to stay away or your rolling the dice on whether you get a broken one or not.
