Default Hey! Look what I've found - Alternative 1/16 IR Battle Tank!

See this...

http://www.matorro.com/t_34_85_43.html

And this...

http://www.matorro.com/tiger_I._44.html

Anyone has any idea about their IR range and the cost? The details sure look fantastic! [X(]

Not only that take a close look at the tiger. It isnt your standard HL body with new guts. ITS A MID PRODUCTION! panther style cupola and single headlight in the middle front with rubber road wheels!

Yep. And not only so. The details and paintwork are really one-up over the standard HL tanks. [sm=thumbs_up.gif] The features of the new Torro tanks are what I've always wanted from my 1/16 tanks.

Now, I only hope that the tanks will be readily available worldwide (and not just limited to Germany), and that the IR battle system has at least 10m range.

Looks like they incorperated a slightly modified VS tank battle unit system it works almost the same as the VS system... and from the looks of the pick up sensor it looks to be like the VS one also .....my bet they won't work out doors in the sun just like the VS tanks.

But they do look nice.

just checked with the guy in German....he won't sell to the USA due to the high cost of shipping. I'm waiting for a reply on USA dealers or future dealers.

Watch the video and you will see the canon firing the gun sound when it goes up and down? Did they make a manufacturing mistake or is the demonstrator for some reason making it do this?

I like the look of these tanks and would buy one.

It looks like a lot of good design work went into them. That mid-production Tiger looks great! [sm=thumbs_up.gif] I just don't understand why the designers did not create the tanks' electronics with proportional speed. [sm=tired.gif] I could see them really gaining a following if they could move slowly and more controllably for the operator. The details in design seem almost wasted when the tank moves like a toy, but I guess they will be good platforms for modification and new is always good. [&:]

icecreamslick: No proportional speed? Hmmm...I couldn't tell from the video demo. Maybe it does have, but the video doesn't show? Anyway, I notice that the Tiger does seem to move at quite scale speed.

pattoncommander: Can you help me to check if they ship to south east asia?

So who really makes these tanks? The T-34 claimed by torro is clearly a WSN/Wassan tank but with some mods, right down to the loud travers and bad elec's. Who makes the new Tiger? And thank god, now we finially have a vendor that makes a T1 Is that just a converted HL T1 as they seem to represent them as well. Do you suppose they will have the WSN electronics or the Matorro electronics? Both weak but at least the Matorro is propo I believe. Notice on the Matorro tab there is a pic of the KT box that says 'in stores now'.
Perry

P.S. the KT box shows the same controller that came with my WSN T-34

Well, I thought that the tanks were "go" or "stop" in the video, but maybe I'm wrong...I hope I am wrong!

I bet the driving is proportional. Maybe not to actual speed but not stop and go. I think they took a HL tank, changed the sounds, paint and stuff and have produced a more accurate tank with an IR system. Seems like a logical step without out recreating the wheel. Who knows it could be the same company.

You may be right. The original HL Tiger and the WSN T34 were non-proportional in speed and I don't think that the operators in the video were trying for any creeping along in the battle, so I'm not convinced either way.

The KT controller looks like the WSN one but it says it's got proportional control (which my T34 ain't got).

And whats "Tower Rotation"????????????

PS I want one NOW

It probably won't work with the tamiya battle system? Anyone got any ideas to if it can be made to work?

So where does one purchase a WSN-TRUMPETEER-TORRO HYBRID T-34 or T-1 or KT in NORTH AMERICA????

I think they are a great base for mods... and also to get some people into R/C IR COMBAT... Later they can upgrade their components and put in some gear to be TAMIYA compatible...

IR battling means nothing to me, heck I have shot 2 BB's since owning the Pershing, under 20 total. Sure, my tanks can shoot, but do I shoot em? nup

The Torro IR system, from what I've [link=http://youtube.com/watch?v=_sYikF8udXU]seen[/link] in their Video Battle Simulation footage, looks very inaccurate (making hits with barrels facing the wrong way etc)

Both the Tiger & T34 are Trumpeter/WSN's new IR tank series that were shown earlier this year at the Nuremburg Show. The KT was only shown as a static model.

At the recent Shanghai Toy Expo, Trumpeter's sales manager showed me a brochure advertising these sold as a combo set, but they didn't have any models on display.
