Default Mauri For kids

How good are the Mauri Tanks? I see someone has one in the classifieds and my 6 yr old loves tanks he always wants to run mine but at 250 -300 invested in a tank I get very nervous.

I never owned anything but HL.
Thanks Anthony

I'd get one of the vsTank ones. Totally acceptable for the price, especially for a kid.

Thats my mauri in the classifieds and I just bought a VS and they are identical, same track type, drive action and feel. I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by the same factory.

I agree but I dunno how you feel but the sound effects are bad, only making a engine noise when its moving and silent when its stopped, the recoil is the tracks running in reverse for a split second jerking the tank backwards no matter where the turret is pointed, alot like the HL's. I got the VS for the IR battle capability, when I get together with Dennis for B.A.C.K's next battle day I'll post my experience with it

To be truthefull the VS tanks when i run them in the same spots i do my tamiya and HL tanks the 1/24 scale may bottom out more but to tell you the truth my tamiyas and HL tanks broke when i drive them in the same spots!! and to think at 1/24 scale it gets more abuse when driving over the same surfaces as compaired to the bigger 1/16 scale.... So i would say 1/24 for your kid will be the right choice anything but the tiger ! that one has track problems they derail to much when off roading As for sound the canon fire sound on the VS tanks sound clear and better then the muffeled distorted HL canon sound.... In fact HL got the stupid jerking also.... I did make something a while back to stop the VS jerking i never long run tested it...But it did look like it worked.

Was going to make these but never did it

The sounds and stuff dont matter He is running it I can live with it and I know he will be Happy that he has his own tank to run. The IR seems interesting, Might be something I can Get into to battle with him to try and keep his intrest peaked in RC tanks.

Ah64, this tank does shoot kinda hard, you may have more fun and have less worries with the IR tanks. Tower Hobbies has the IR versions on sale for $69 down from $99, I haven't battled mine yet though, so I can't comment on the fun factor. The Tamiya battle system is a blast though so there is hope for the cheapie VS IR system.

I have a 5 year old son who loves the VS tanks. We have three and at the last battle day I took those out so he could battle with some other kids and they had a great time. They ran well in the battlefield. I have two leopards from Tower and one Abrams I bought online. They are a lot of fun to run with my son.
