...What gun barrel do you use with the SU-100 Conversion Kit? Can it be made to elevate/depress/recoil? (I don't care about the 10 deg left/right traverse. )
I'm thinking about using the gun out of the WSN T-34/85, if that's possible....Any and all ideas would be appreciated. I don't intend to "fire" anything.....

This is a repost but here is the SU-100 I did.

May not be much help as I did not transfer either the WSN or airsoft gun over. Just used the T-34 barrel hard mounted.
There is some good stuff towards the end on cheaply duplicating the wheels.
YHR did a nice build, perhaps he will chime in.

Nice thing about Russian tanks, on most vehicles they used almost any style of wheel. So the stock T34/85 wheels would be one type used on the SU-100. Also, using the stock T34/85 barrel is okay, but lenghtening it to resemble the feared L/54 naval gun would be more correct for the SU-100.
With the stock barrel it looks more like a SU-85M.

The T34/85 AND the SU-100 used both style wheels and most of the pics you see of the SU had the solid wheels. The SU-85 mostly used the solid wheels.
I want to transfer my T34/85 to one of the Trumpeter T34/76's just because of the mixed style of steel and rubber rimmed wheels. Another winter project.
Then finish my SU-85 at the same time.
I really like your SU-100 Perry, especially the work on the wheels! Very nice! These kits are really fun and cheap to produce something other than another Tiger on the battlefield. I might make the SU-85 into a captured German tank. Just because I have this pic of one with a huge German cross on the side.

Agree, these are good kits. Nice to have something different. The captured tank is a good idea. Here's a pic of one I always thought was cool. Something about it reminds my of a Hemi cuda with airshocks (most won't get this reference)

Captured T34's look great, my only "problem" with them is that theres already so many German tanks out there on the battlefield, making a possible foe into another german tank worsens the odds. I always thought the Germans had less tanks than the rest.... lol, history repeating itself alternatively - in 1/16.

Most battles are made up of an even amount of Allied and Axis tanks.

by "the battlefield" I really meant out there in the RC world. So many people do german stuff, what about everything else (there were others fighting... remember?
). As much as I like the angles and sheer aggressiveness of German tanks, things like heavyaslead's KV1 are a blessing, if only there were more (or more kits) out there in the mainstream.

I like German tanks...But right now I'm "doing" a Russian SU-100. If somebody brought out a VVSS Sherman I could build some tanks that were actually used by the Canadians and Brits....Like the 155 M12, the M7 105 Priest, the M36 TD, and the M10 --not to mention the "Firefly". Wouldn't object to a Churchill, Comet, Cromwell either. ---But let's be honest about it: German tanks are just far more popular. This has been discussed before, I know.....
Myself, I've got the Mark III in 1/16, and the IV, V and VI in 1/18 scale. (Only the Mark IV is R/C'd --and as Perry implies, -- you don't want to run that one too much!)
I'm hoping HL with bring out that 1/16 Sherman -- and if you like "German Armour" well, the Germans captured more than a few ---and used em. And the Russians used LL Shermans too. I even have a photo of a captured M10 TD with German Markings... !!
I'm sure all you other guys have some favourites you'd like to see made-- to help restore the "Balance of Power"!
