Pershing reporting for duty!

keep it up...great looking Pershing. Look at my M-45 TC hatch/MG pics I sent....make a periscope and hatch latch...it'll add lots to it. The hatch cover latch is a simple oval ring. When you pull the hatch closed, the bottom of the ring catches on the latch lug on the hatch, you pull it over the high point and and locks it tight.

I figured 33mm, close enough. Does it still shoot?

He DID go back to Germany with a R/C Ultimate Soldier Panzer IV. Nice to know a Panzer is going "home"!

I'm sure we'll see your uncle on the Panzerketten forum soon!
As for the ricochets, it's probably because the inner barrel wasn't lengthened. When the round comes out of the stock barrel it tends to arc and it would hit the inside. If the velocity of the gun was increased and the muzzle brake reinforced, ricochets would occur less and not as likely to blow the brake off! If you're not going to shoot, don't worry about it.
Do you have any plans to add the little handles along the fender and storage bin sides? [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6413851/anchors_6413851/mpage_1/key_panzerkampfwagen/anchor/tm.htm#6413851]M26A1 Pershing - USMC Korea - Build [/link]

SUPER PERSHING ALSO REPORTING.
New t-81 tracks came in today, so i dropped everything and got them installed. [sm=teeth_smile.gif]They look and run really great.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]
Problem and I have discussed this with Willy, is that the tracks come with a pin inserted from the inside with no way to use a pin to punch it out. [:@] I had to remove a link from eacxh track to get the right fit...and was unable to make any pins move at all.
It was necessarry to to cut one link from each track with a Dremmel saw...but the tracks come with 6 spares, so no sweat
The super-duper P is now running on the original type shoes and looks great. Good investment[
]Note this is the fast reply block, so will post photos separate.

One note on the Impact tracks...the sprockets are made for Tamiya, where the shaft has two flat areas in the hub. The HL only has one, so it merely entails using a Dremmel and burr off one of the flat lobes to round it off to fit the HL shaft. I did the same with mt T-84 tracks on the M-26A1, takes about 10 minutes and it slips right on.

Dust/sand skirts were a well intended item and on most tanks, they look nice.
But, when you have to work on the track, out comes the 9/16 sockets and wrenches, fold the center ones up and brace them so they don't fall down on you. [:@] Once you are in heavy brush.,.or worse, barbed wire, they get torn up and bent and bolt holes don't line up or bolts are ripped out.[:'(] The skirts help to keep the trash on the track and suspension, instead of falling off to the outside, and as far as holding down dust...yeah, right![&o] The M-1 Abrams and Bradley have the right idea....armor plated skirts that swing out like doors and the design is much improved so that collecting large amounts of trash is minimal. I dig skirts, but not on a tank

I certainly hope you're going to remove that antenna from the engine deck. They never had them mounted there on any Pershing and certainly not the Super Pershing!
And the travel lock you have is more for the M26A1, not the Super Pershing. The Super Pershing was located on the rear and much larger than the T26E3.
And those tracks need some weathering or at least some paint. I've never seen silver tracks on any Pershing.
HTH
TOUCHE!!! [sm=lol.gif]
