Here's a project I undertook while pausing on my 1/6 FOA Tiger..........I used left over parts from my HL Pershing upgrade.

I plan to use all HL s/s guts and a co2 cannon. also, going to try to incorporate as much of the HE gear as possible. right now I'm waiting on some more Pershing track to arrive, don't have enough for the other side.

Looks good. I did pretty much the same thing to my HE Leopard about 6 months ago. I made a mold of the center road wheel spacers and cast all of them in Smooth-On 300 though. Keep up the good work.

Hi you all,
I am just wondering, whether the hobby engine 1/16 leopard 2a6 is in real scale or not. I know a place where the HE 2a6 is on sale now. It costs about $95 + shipping ($40+) I think. The reason I do not buy it from them is the shipping cost. It is way too much.
Does it have potential to be modified? Can I use Tamiya 2a6 wheels, suspensions. sprockets and idellers to the HE 2a6? because I am waiting for a complete metal set of 2a6 wheels and suspensions for my tamiya rc 2a6.

Hi Tanxalot,
I believe that it is hobbytron.com. HE leo 2a5 is on sale for about $95 US+ shipping cost. I do not know whether they accept oversea order or not. You can ask always.
I believe the shipping cost will be hugh then. The link: http://www.hobbytron.com/RCTankLeopa...ftJHC0807.html
Good luck!

Hi Tanxalot,
Actually, if you can buy it from Hong kong, it will be much cheaper. I do not remember where I saw it in HK. If you have friends living in HK. You can ask them to buy it for you. I believe the postage will be much cheaper too. I recall that it is about $70 US in HK.
Yan.

Hi Shadopilot,
Thank you for your info.
What I want to know is the scale of the tank. Is it a real scale model tank? When I was in HK, I did not have time to measure the scale. From what I saw, I need to change at least tracks, sprockets , suspensions and the wheels and to enhance the hull with metal plates.
Did you do any modification?
Thanks again.

I used HL S&S with Three 3800mah batteries. I am going to eventually put HL metal gearboxes in it but havent gotten that far. Thought about building a metal lower hull from scratch from aluminum, but I havent decided yet. The leopard has been on the back burner since I started my panther project, which is almost finished by the way. I will probably get back to it before I start my Jagdpanther conversion.

Yan, the measurements:
According to the Tamiya web site:
Leopard 2 A6 688mm Long x 237mm W x (Height not shown)
According to the Hobby Engine literature:
Leopard 2 A5 635mm Long x 230 Wide x 220High
Please note that the Tam version is the longer barrelled A6 model which has a bearing on the overall length anyway.
