Well, my WSN T34 has been well and truly gutted!! (Thanks to some cunning coercion from a certain forum member who shall remain nameless...fv432...oops....LOL!!) It now sports HL S&S boards, complete with speaker but NOT the smoker. I followed Wackywheels excellent tutorial on swapping over the innards (together with fv's input as well!!) and managed not to fry anything!!!!

Unfortunately Wacky's tutorial was for the non-IR model so mine had a L-O-T more wires and plugs!!! AAARRRGGGHH!!!
Following fv's advice, (so I would've blamed him if it had gone pear-shaped!!) yesterday saw me following lots ...and lots...and lots of wires around the turret trying to suss out where they all went, ......then promptly pulled them all out!!!! These will soon be heading for that big auction site on the interweb, along with a brand new (only used three times m'lord) transmitter and main board.

I've made a note of every single wire / colour / routing as best I could, together with what I hope are in-focus pics (took a load when I first opened the tank and they were all blurred..doh!!!) So, what I'm in the process of doing now is putting a schematic together to assist people in the future, as well as for you more intelligent bods to give ME advice as to how to wire-up the thing so I have cannon recoil / cannon sound / tank "jerk" together...please??!!

As soon as I've done the schematics / listings, then I'll do another new post for all, OK??

Hey Tanxalot, after you get it figured out, let us know how those IR systems work as far as distance, I have heard that they only shoot about 6 feet but it has to be better then that?

Thanks,

The Blitz

To keep things easy, the RC IR ones are "Torro", the older static ones are "Trumpeter" and the original RC non-IR versions are "WSN" [8D]

Tanxalot,

The pics you took would be greatly appreciated, perhaps even a build thread??? I have a Trumpeter T-34 IR tank arriving next week, along with HL S&S boards so I will need to pick your brain.
Well picking my brain will be a fruitless exercise!! Will do as many pics and bits as my addled brain cell will allow, OK?

Blitz

Unfortunately the IR stuff has been gutted from the tank, I only have the one IR version so it was pretty useless to be honest. I would've liked to have given it a test, but unable to do so, sorry!![&o]

fv432

Not you????!!....you almost FORCED me to rip it apart...LOL No, the main gun does recoil, but now I've "lost" the flash (oops) and it only works with the left Tx stick up, and not with the K button (would like them linked really...hint, hint)

Wacky

Does that mean I can send this back? It was sold on the 'bay as a WSN T34.....ah, sending it back could be a problem......not quite as it was dispatched now ...erm!!
