Hi guys!! Just a very quick question if I may?
Bought several HL tanks and converted to S&S, but only have the one S&S Tx, so cannot "play" tanks to full effect (with sons/ dad / wife). Thought I'd have a go at converting one of the stock Tx's using a S&S Tx board, but there are THREE sockets on the new board and FOUR on the old one. What have I missed (yeah I know...a plug...doh!!)[8D]
Any advice (other than stop being tight and buy the complete S&S conversion kit next time..huh!!??)
Cheers, and hope you all have a good weekend.

Not so much tight as closely resembling a duck's a....well you get the drift!!
Nah, I have five controllers, four HL tanks and of the five Tx's only one is S&S compatible. I bought a S&S board off the 'bay and hoped it would be a swap-out, but when I've checked on places like asiatam they show a "proportional" 'stick as part of their package, but that too has the two plugs, same as the existing stick (its gotta be the r/h one hasn't it?), which stil leaves one plu too many.
The options are buy yet ANOTHER Tx, what a waste, or another tank just so I could "battle" with someone. Grrrrr...that could mean buying ANOTHER tank, just to get the second Tx.........oh......hang on...........................errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... ....oh wifey I may have a solution!!!!!

Buy a complete smoke and sound upgrade kit. You'll get another complete transmitter and more spare parts to keep your 5 tanks going for quite a while. Then you can scour the net for inexpensive boards and gimbals to upgrade your other radios.

Yeah I know, but that's just tooooo easy!! I can get the "gimbal" as you call it, but the question still remains unanswered, how would it fit? Four plugs STILL wont go into three sockets?[&o]
Some supporting pics.....
Pic one shows the Tx inside plug set up
Pic two is comparison of the two boards (newer S&S at the top marked as TX11P)
Pic three is old board showing the four sockets
Pic four is new board showing the three sockets available.
Your mission if you choose to accept it is:
advise me

Mike you will need the right hand joy stick from an s+s controller because of the sliders this plugs into the 2 smaller sockets
the left hand stick large plug will have to be modified to accept the five red, white, yellow, black and blue wires from the left hand stick see pic
That said I'td be less of a head stress to buy another controller/tank

Oh sh...ugar!! Thought it was too good to be true. I can get hold of the S&S stick vie the'bay, but for another £7 or so, thats money I could be using buying a complete tank / Tx innit???
Never mind, at least I have a spare Tx board now eh? Thanks Rob, and the rest of you, best to ask (should've done THAT first!!) LOL!!

Swath.. is that a "fix" I see?????? It looks as if I still need the r/h (From the front of the Tx) S&S joystick / gimbal, correct?
Thanks

Right, back in the old days the smoke and sound upgrade kits didn't come with new transmitters, just the parts to upgrade them. I upgraded a few and thankfully they then started providing complete transmitters. Yeah, you'll still need the right side gimbal or whatever it's called as the guts are slightly different and it has adjusters that work.
