Default King Tiger engine sound

Hi Guys

Can anybody help, I have put a Heng Long S&S system in my Tamiya King Tiger, I thought it was great (at first) now I am not happy, The start up sounds brilliant but the idling sound is C***, I have found a wav file of the engine idling but am having trouble finding the startup, has anybody got or knows where I can get a wav file for it, I have tried recording the start up sequence and that also sounds pants (must be something to do with the recording stuff I have)

Regards
Richard

Hi Wackywheelz

Hmmmmmm......... o.k. you asked , I am going to put the finished sound file onto a small mp3 player and use that instead of the hl s&s board, the file I have got sounds greatwith the 3 speakers thet I have installed in the tank, the only thing that is missing is the startup

Sorry but this does not address your concern. I'm just curious, how did you wire the 3 speakers? Series, parallel, series/parallel? Are the speakers identical? I also have the Tamiya KT and am also not impressed with the sound but is HengLong the better path? Perhaps ElMod but too pricey.

laz2428 so you are changing the sounds on the HL board just like that? Mind telling me how it's done? I think startup and shutdown is ok, but not good. Idling and acceleration sounds are strange, dosent realy remind me of a engine to tell the truth :P

If Elmod has good sounds, it's worth it big time I think. I will find out probably later this month

He's talking about just putting a portable MP3 player in his tank, loading it up with some sound effects, plugging in some speakers and hitting play before he drives... it's a ghetto-Benedini-setup

Hi Guys

Yes, I am planning on a mp3 player, but, no, instead of hitting the play button before driving I am going to use a servo with a "pushrod" linked up to a spare switch on my 40 mhz transmitter so when I hit the start button the engine fires up, simple but effective !!!
I have converted a dodge v8 engine start up & tickover wav file to mp3, played a bit with my sound editor and it does sound quite good, but obviously not right. My speakers are in parallel, one is the heng long stock speaker mounted at the front where tamiya tell you to put the clutch servo, the other 2 are IBM laptop speakers, only 1 inch diameter, mounted onto the rear brace directly under the 2 round air vents on the top rear of the hull, like I say mounted onto the brace so I can take the shell off without having wires all over the place attached to lower part of the tank.

Regards
Richard
