Tiger barrel extensions
Does anyone know if the HL inner airsoft barrel will fit through these metal barrel extensions? I would hate to get it, cut the outer barrel and find out the airsoft won't work with it.

it just fits. If your inner barrel is any thicker (like the madbull) I had to drill mine out out. I did get one awhile back (I assume its the same maker) Now I just make my own using brass tubes .

Thanks TJM... as you know, I have one MadBull barrel that I still haven't installed [
] I switch to night shifts for a month starting this weekend and will have more spare time [since the wife and I will be on opposite work shifts 
]and plan on putting my first Tiger back together again with your airsoft gun and new RX14 board. No drill press here - I guess I could make one instead. I believe there are some "how-to" guides in past posts.

Any regular airsoft inner barrel will do fine, but are expensive compared to a regular brass tube (both ways most probably requier mesuring and saw off at the right length). There are airsoft barrels that has a special teflon surface inside the barrel to make the bb travel with less friction.
If you just add the extension the original inner barrel is going to be to short wich may cause the bb to exit the inner barrel in a unstraight line. It may result in the bb colliding with the inside of the muzzel break and bounce of in some random direction. That has happend for me, but I will not keep the airsoft unit for now. Will upgrade later to recoil and scale barrel instead.

If you do have to drill it will just a bit. The one I had only need about a mm taken out (it already can with a hole for the stock barrel. Let me know when you get my gun installed. And remember. The best way is to just switch the motors so there is no chance of getting the wires crossed.

Ditto here.... I just ordered two from a seller in the UK based on the info Ern posted, and I would appreciate any info from anyone who has installed one of these.

Here a link to another forum [hope it isn't a rules violation] and it shows a lot of good step by step information on getting inside your tank and doing some of the cosmetic mods to make your tank more accurate. The FAQ section here is also very helpful. This will help getting the outer barrel off to work on. I have read of a couple people cutting the outer barrel to lengthen it while the tanks was still assembled and while doing so cut into and ruined the inner airsoft barrel, so I don't know if I'd try it. I guess you could do it with a fine hand saw, and imagine they were using a high speed Dremel cutter of something.
Once cut the metal extension piece looks like it should slide in. The knurled ends should hold it in place and a few drops of super glue would probably be a good idea. Here's a pic showing what the barrel should be and where to cut.

You don't need an inner barrel the same lengh as the outer. You do have to bore out the inner lip by the muzzle brake. If your airsoft unit fires hard enough then the bb won't touch the outer barrel. You will have to secure the inner barrel to your airsoft unit. I just put a small screw on the top of my gun's airsoft unit to secure the barrel.

I note some comments about lengthening/replacing the airsoft barrel for the extension - is there a standard gauge of bronze tubing available and if so what diameter is it?

I was a bit concerned with taking a hacksaw to the barrel to fit the extension in case I cut in the wrong place or made a hash of it.
