Default Large scale gasoline powered?

Anyone here know of any large (1/5 or 1/4) scale tanks, powered by gasoline engines, that are scale or semi-scale? I'm looking for a real beast, something big, heavy, metal, loud, etc. Not too concerned with fancy functions, just basic turret/barrel movement.

Anyone know of a builder or vendor that deals in such monstrosities?

Theres the cheap and out of scale um.... Sankyo. They make an [link=http://www.tokyo-hobbies.com/kingtiger.html]odd-KT[/link] and a [link=http://www.tokyo-hobbies.com/74jgsdf.html]Type 74[/link].

Apart from those, you could maybe get one from that rctransmissions guy - he works with 1/6 stuff

Pick up a surplus T-16 and retrofit a top and turret. They are a ball and easy to maintain. Basic vehicle is about 5.5 tons but many T-16s have been stripped for logging skids and can be purchased with only lower chassis to retrofit as you want. (2.5-3 Ton) They'd make a very accurate Japanese light-medium tank and would be good to do in plywood as opposed to metal to cut down on weight. I redid mine as a tank killer and ran it for 6 yrs before I sold it. No RC needed....you drive it there. For what you'd spend for a 1/4 or 1/5 size tank, you could have one to drive.

Nice thing about it was, no radio control other than to my driver (my son) and my gunner (daughter in law), but most of the time I just shouted directions and fire commands. The subcaliber 12 ga shotgun could take out a pistol target at 150-200 yrs with 00. Drove the Marine tank unit crazy in a cat-n-mouse game. We took out 3 M-60s before they got us.

Hey Bill,

If you get a chance buy it back, and I have a place to store it out here for you! It will you give you a reason to take the misses to California once or twice a year!

Phil, that tank is at the Danville museum....for sale.[X(] Whover had it removed the gun I had in it and messed up the engine. Danville now has a new engine in it and a little TLC would make it a neat toy. I was thinking about it, but my commander in chief says "don't even think about it" [:@] Seems that since we now have some grass along side the house in in the back yard, she wants to keep it that way.[&o]

I have the M-46 put together and have the decals and most stowage in place. Another couple days of cosmetics and I'll get some photos. Also want to run it on a video, past my burning T-34. Sound is amazing and the El Mod stuff really makes a diff.
