hey guys,
I am planning (when finances allow) to build a super pershing out of a HL pershing (obviously 1:16!!
)
I am going to be rid of the bb gun, and planning on moving switches changing speaker ect.
I can make the extra armour and parts except the barrel (as thats go to be smooth) so i have a few questions:-
[ul][*] Does anybody know where i can get (prefurably in the UK) a super pershing full length and correct scale size barrel?[*] Does anybody know where i can get (prefurably in the UK) a HL pershing with metal gears and drive wheels (dont mind about tracks) with a complusory RX14 board in case in the future i want to go with El-mod?[*] Where i can get the plastic to cut the extra armour and bits out from where i can get it (prefurably in the UK)
[/ul]
thanks ALOT guys, if i can get these answered im well away!!!

cheers, and thanks in advance,

Matt

here is a model site that has some pics of a real super pershing .

you can use evergreen scale models sheet styrene and styrene tube and other shapes there is a conversion kit out there for a 1/35th model conversion of the m26 pershing to super pershing but have not found it yet .
thanks

I make all my own barrels on my lathe as long as I have the dimentions I can do it I use barrel stock I had made for barrels so they all have the holes though them make sure I have a pic and dimentions for the recoil attaching point so I can machine it corectly here is a KT barrel I made recently

for the extra armour use 80 thoughsants evergreen styreen stock easy to glue and sturdy and with a small tip soldering gun easy to make the weld marks

For the gun tube, (Army terminology= tube.) use another Pershing gun, cut the tube right at the muzzle brake and the added section just where it starts to expand, and it'll be right on. (or very close) Pull the metal BB tube out a couple inches and slide the new piece right on. All that is needed is a little finesse in filling/sanding the crack. My Super P gun is 30 cm. If Septon can make one...great!
Added armor, you can make from sheet styrene....surely someone in UK carries it. Use the photos from Dick Hunnicutt's book Pershing. Also need to convert the loader's hatch to a round "finger chopper" split hatch. I used an old Tamiya Sherman turret and simply cut out the hatch and made a round hole in the turret for it. You absolutely need the T-81 track....the standard track just doesn't look right. [:'(]
Work the front suspension to sag a bit at the front. The added armor on the 2 supers that were in Germany was really hard on wheel bearings and shocks. I added a screw and blocked the suspension from raising all the way. Good luck. Lotsa work[>:]
