Default El-mod ... ???

hey guys,

as some of you probably know im planning a HL super pershing build, not as i really dont like the sounds of the HL, i am considering fitting HL with the rx14 board, but i dont know what i would need? ive looked on the sight and saw that the thinktank blaster appears to be el-mods sound module, but can this be fitted directly into a HL tank along with HL's electronics and receiver?? or would i need other el-mod items too?

thanks, and while im at it which el-mod parts would i need to use the el-mod battle system? or could i still run the DBC/DBU with the required el-mod stuff to run the blaster? [:-][sm=bananahead.gif][sm=bananahead.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=bananahead.gif]

thanks guys, sorry im a bit of a newbie with el-mod.

cheers guys, i eargerly await your responses!!!

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Mat,

"directly into a HL tank along with HL's electronics and receiver??"

From:http://www.el-mod.de/product_info.ph...ed2b1be763c838

"A ThinkTank Booster is necessary, ThinkTank TLS is strongly recommended as otherwise there will be no sounds for the turret functions"

But you can hook this up with HL electronics/reciever, watch this excelent work by Swathdiver: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_65..._6/key_/tm.htm

"or could i still run the DBC/DBU with the required el-mod stuff to run the blaster?"

Sorry, dont know I hope that "Blitz" can fill me in.

Regards jake

Well this had not been tired,,, in therory this may work but you have two systems changing the drive function so that maybe a problem? EL MOD has a battle system the CSI $ 110.00

You already have a Futaba radio just buy anohter receiver and junk all the heng long stuff and go all EL MOD, that is another option!

You know I think it might help for me to give an analogy to the mind of EL MOD! Think of it as a primitive robot mind, with all functions for sending a signal to simple device or intelligent system to make what moves or sounds or pulse,,,, it will be carrying it out! For example the sound Blaster is a 10-watt Stereo, which the sounds are only starting by a certain signals from the EL MOD processor, or Brain that is calculating Physics the type of terrain it comes up against! Now this is just my explanation of, but I hope that explains why it is impossible to use the Blaster II with any other electronic system!

Ya I guess I could of said that each unit needs to give and receive data but I think it still puzzles folks,,, but I might be wrong!

Booster/ TLS / Blaster II you need EL MOD to run EL MOD, it is like changing you tank over to a Tamiya Tank, but with additional features!

Matt the advantage of el-mod is you can buy it a bit at a time start with the bigboost and prop 4 then later you can buy the TLS then you can buy the soundmdule so even though its not cheap it can be affordable this way if you look at the way you buy it it will fit in with any build first you build the hull buy the bigboost with prop 4 then you test your running gear then you start to build the upper hull you buy the tls and test then paint and finish your tank then buy sound module to finish it hope this gives you something to think about .

Hi there Mr Blitz......

My names Mike and I have just started this hoby and got well and truly hooked. I asked a question on here about electronics and one reply said that you supplied a guy in UK with El mod kit.

I have HL PZ3, PZ4 and a Tiger in pieces, will El mod fit in all of them? I want gun and engine sound plus future battle system is this feasible in all 3 tanks or is the PZ3 too small?
Last of all, will all the HL electronics be binned during the conversion or do I utilise some of it. I am not electronics friendly at all but I am more than willing to have a go. Having said that, the write ups on El mod have confused me completely....I am over 60 so senility is kicking in!!!

Do you supply to UK customers still please, if so what will it cost per tank for sound upgrade?

Thank you in anticipation of you taking pitty on an old man.....Mike

Hello there Mickyb, you have just caught me at a busy time trying to get caught up, but getting close! I do supply the UK, and yes EL MOD will work and fit in all those tanks!

The Electonics and sound upgrades will be about $ 290.00 a tank, give or take $ 15 depending on what system you want! BAD NEWS right now and unitl possibly early December I will not have the EL MOD version that lets you use the Heng long Radio! I do have other versions in stock but you will need to buy a high end radio to operate!
I have to make a post office run right now, and it is easier for to meet you individual needs please e-mail me at; [email protected]

Thanks,

The Blitz

Is it me or is the El-Mod site the most confusing place on planet Earth?

I have a Heng Long Tiger 1. Full Metal options fitted eg tracks, gearboxes, suspension, hatches etc etc. It weighs a ton!

I am trying to figure out how much I need to spend to convert it to the ElMod system so that I get the sound, proportional speed and turret rotation, whilst keeping the airsoft gun, and if possible the smoke unit? I cannot figure out what I should be buying??

Just to complicate matters I would dearly love to get hold of the Creeping Death Tiger Turret so that I get an airsoft gun, plus laser with extended barrel and recoil.

On top of that I am looking at fitting some decent motors. Though only if they improve on the whitecaps that are currently installed.

I am happy to buy a new tx.

(I daren't mention that I am also an old fossil from the UK who works in IT, I still have trouble with a video remote??).

Can anyone list the parts I need, and the cost either direct from ElMod or the U.S. I would be very grateful.

Hoping there is someone out there willing to take pity on a befuddled Brit!

Cheers

Rob G

Why buy a recoil unit when you can buy the whole turret with upgraded gun etc from Creeping Death??? It makes no sense. I just ordered one.

Hi Mat,

Check this:

http://www.asiatam.de/product_info.p...8bcfd601484633

or:

http://www.rctank.de/product_info.ph...roducts_id=431

Works with HL electronics and radio. Its also possible to use with El-Mod, but then its not "Plug and play"
Regards

Jake
