Charger Question

Can someone explain what the differences are between peak, pulse, and rapid/quick chargers, and maybe what the pros and cons are of each - or at least which type is best for our hobby. I'm currently using a Radio Shack quick charger and like it, but am going to upgrade and give it to a nephew with a Bulldog for Christmas.
Thanks!

Hi a peak charger detects when your battery reaches it's hieghest voltage when charging and as soon as the voltage starts dropping lower during charger the charger shuts off and your battery is done... Pulse charg is when the battery is charging the curent is pulsed on and off very rapidly during charge...this methde is said to be good for nicads.... All hobby grade chargers can be rapid /quick chargers because you can set them to charge fast or slow by setting the amprage....
I would go for a MRC superbrain 969 very easy to use and has all the good features needed to charge most any type of NICAD or NIMH battery.

If you can afford it go with the MRC 977. it comes with a AC/DC converter so you can use it in the field from your car battery or at home from the wall socket. I love mine. Very easy too use.
