I remember recently seeing a source for tank accessories that carried a bucket or pale. I've seen these buckets carried on Tiger tanks in the rear between the exhausts. Does anyone know if theres a US distributor for these?

I order mine from our friends in Britain. Prices have been better lately, try militarymightuk-gb, blueslateman (welsh dragon models) and tankworkshop. Pugwash04 doesn't seem to be selling anything last time I checked.

I make mine from sewing thimbles from Wallmart. Drill holes for the handles some wire a little filler and sand paper to smooth out the ridges and primer, then paint. about 2.00 per bucket.

ETO Armor [link=http://www.etoarmour.com/product_detail.php?productID=ZUH11]carries one[/link] that is made in Germany (SCHUMO) for like $19.00. It's all expensive stuff, or you'll just end up with a cheap imitation. Domestic shipping is under $7.00 but swathdiver is right, wherever you order from, get the most out of the shipping.

Its not that I have a problem with get something shipped from England, its that its only a tiny bucket.Swathdiver has it right, I need to make it worth it,but I cant think of any other thing I need from them now. Have you ever wished you had'nt posted a thread after the fact? Must have been too much cough medicine.[&o]

Don`t look at it that way. There is lots of stuff in England we can`t get over here. Get a set of low profile gears, and a bucket!!!!!!

Timslocum,
Just for fun check out this article, it's a pretty good one. Tells you step by step how to make 1/35th scale buckets using real metal. Double all of the dimensions and they should work perfectly for 1/16th tanks. Check it out and see how difficult they are to make. Sure beats a $26.00 Shumo bucket ($19.00 plus $7.00 shipping)

And remember - no German WWII afv model is accurate without at least one zink bucket!

Thanks for the info, the ones I found are listed as 1 1/8" tall, but Im not sure if that is including the handle. The other dimensions seem to be good. I have a picture of the bucket posted over at RC Groups in the tank section, but I dont know how to post pictures here. If someone would want to I'd appreciate it. Thanks

There are some pretty neat buckets currently on eBay (except they're $38 per 100, a little more than one would usually need). They're also too large, at a couple of inches tall, but they might do for 1/6th. There are also quite a lot of bucket charms around, for a few bucks, if you avoid the opal and diamond studded ones. Some aren't too bad, although most are in need of weathering.

Swathdiver, What kind of tanker am I?? A tanker on a budget. Also, it seems the older I get the more I turn into my father, " how much is that? thats ridiculous." I also find it fun to locate things that can be used for something else. We modellers are kinda like that. I knew a guy who was putting on deodorant one morning and looked at his deoderant and realized that it was almost perfectly shaped to be the funnel for his 1/144th pocket battleship.
Angusx, I spent some time looking over ebay, found those and a few others. The ones Im looking into are from an online craft store. There 3/4" in diameter, someones checking on the hight for me. If this works out, there 50 cents each.
