Is that the Zimmerit which is supplied with the kit, or did you make it yourself?

Do not quite understand what you mean by "Apoxie 2 part Zimmerit". The Tamiya kit is supposed to include some sort of zimmerit panels that I assume are glued to the hull. I've not seen the kit supplied zimmerit so I have no idea what it looks like.

The Tamiya stick on zimmerit looks like this: (click on the photos to make them bigger)

It is ok however I found that it tended to start peeling off at the edges on high wear areas.

Google the word Apoxie Sculpt for info on the 2 part expoxy resin that I used for the zimmerit. It is similar to the real thing, you smooth it on, press a stamp (with Zimmerit pattern) into it and then it sets rock hard and permanent. It is the only way to go. Takes ages to do and is best done over several days so you do not muck up the bit you have just done while working on another bit.

AL, thanks for the info on the Apoxie Sculpt. Sounds like interesting stuff. I see it comes in various colors, any particular color that you chose to use?

I used the standard Tamiya colours. XF 60, EF 64, XF 61. The trick is in the weathering process where you blend the washes and highlights etc, that sort of thing borders on art and needs lots of practice to perfect. There are lots of very good tips on how to do this stuff here:

Good luck
