german stripper!

Default german stripper!

hey guys ,i just stripped & repainted my leo 2a6,but the turret basket framework was destroyed by the oven cleaner.is it possible to scratchbuild new ones out of styrene tubeing or should i try to order new ones from tamiya.i also need some more fiber optic cable,he he.any help would be nice.

Its possable to build anything from scratch just let your mind wander to things you could use wire ,styrene, anything that will replicate what you want. It is sometimes easier than you think

Scatchbuilding is half the fun and thers no harm in trying. I got my fiber optics from a kids toy at a doller store.

I wouldn't buy the Tamiya ones again.  Get some metal ones, as they plastic seems to be too fragile IMHO.  You could use some window screen for the mesh.  Karen at the AAF museum sells parts for it.

I have never heard of using oven cleaner as a stripper before.  In the model railroad arena,  they use brake fluid or buy a commercial stripper sold in hobby stores.  I have used the commercial stripper with no damage to parts whatso ever.  This may be advice a little to late,  but may help in the future.
