Default Not another T34 Build

I recently got back into 1/16 tanks. This is my second T34 that I have converted to HL, this time with a RX18 board and battle unit. Swapped out the barrel with a VStank airsoft barrel and added a HL flash unit.

Basic repaint, waiting decals.

The guts. I am going to give it a HL Stug motor and gears later this month.

Inside the turret.

I know this T34 build is nothing new, but I did learn one thing that will probably help others. You can wire the black and white wires that are on the recoil unit's micro switch to pins J (Track recoil/sound trigger) and K ( B- ...see below pic) on the RX18. By doing this you will get the muzzle flash, IR emitter shoot, blast sound, barrel recoil and stupid track recoil all on the left up stick action.

Thanks to Wacky and all the others who made the T34 HL conversion possible for us dummies.

Looks very good indeed. I haven't even managed to repair the defective recoil mechanism my T-34 came with, so as yet, it hasn't even got as far as being a fully functional stock WSN.

That certainly looks great! [sm=thumbs_up.gif] The WSN T34 is a good platform to convert using any electronics and a fun build too.

This thread came just in time. I'm going to update my T34 to the Rx18 and add the battle system. Does the airsoft barrel allow more room for the IR emitter or is the standard WSN IR barrel sufficient. I also want to reconnect the recoil. Anyone have the proper wiring ladder too do this. This tank needs recoil.

Was this conversion done to a Torro IR T34 or the old discontinued WSN/Wasan T34?

The stock barrel flash that comes with it is weak. There is no way to remove it and the ir emitter from the barrel without destroying both. The Vstank Leo 2a6 airsoft barrel works nicely. Just cut it down to size, make a spacer to fit the recoil unit and glue it in place. It will take the HL Flash LED perfectly.

Anyone have the proper wiring ladder too do this. This tank needs recoil.
Use this diagram to hook up the recoil, connect the WSN Green wire to the HL yellow, and WSN red to HL Brown (see below). Then hook up the white and black switch wires on the recoil motor to pins J and K (see 1st post above).

Its a Torro IR T34. I wish the hatches would open. I did thread saw the rear hatch and install the switch inside it.

Could someone redo a how too thread on Thread Sawing. There was a post along time ago on how to do it but it has since long been removed. I think this is a method that many will find usefull. I looked for a long time to try and recover the previous thread but no joy.

Thankyou for showing us the interior. I started converting my T34-85 but ended up putting it on the backburner. I think there is still hope for it yet. This will inspire me to finally get at it and complete it.

Everyone who want to do this conversion old or new with the IR junk installed this is a huge help! You just cut the IR stuff out first,, and figure out which wire does what in the turret then connect to the Heng long 8 pin!
