shelf for displaying tanks

My Dad had a great idea yesterday on displaying his tanks. He is going to get a nice wide shelf, then put model railroad dirt and grass and ruts and rocks and trees on it. This way the tanks look more natural. I think it's brilliant- what do you folks think?
BTW, he already has all the stuff from his model railroading days, so no additional cost. It'll be a sort of diorama setting....until he has so many tanks he has to have them side by side like a parking lot.

Great idea... although if you have a lot of metal upgrades weight may become an issue. Make sure it is supported well! It would be a shame to see your investments crash to the floor! [X(]

This goes back a bit but here's a great example of how to make modest, single-vehicle dioramas using "picture frames" as a base!
