can anyone help me please.
a friend of mine has bought 2 Hobby Engine Leopard A25 tanks, at different times, for his 2 young boys. He has now discovered that both tanks are on the same radio frequency and the boys are distraught as they cannot commence battle against one another !
He has asked me to try and sort it out as I know a little about R/C ( I fly model aeroplanes ) Has anyone had the situation where they have had to change the frequency chrystals ? I have had a look inside both the Tx and the tank and found the chrystals which are soldered to the PCB`s. Now, I can de-solder them but there is little point without knowing what type of chrystal they are, I can easily get some Futaba or Hitec replacements on a different frequency but, will they work ?
any help gratefully received
thanks

Im not sure that these are "Battle" tanks.
Just seen this one -

and it doesn't say anything about battling two tanks.
Most people seem to swap the electronics for HL ones.

I think we seem to forget that all we really need to have in order to have fun battling tanks is two tanks. IR sensors not really needed when you still have a child's imagination.
I believe these tanks only comes in two frequencies, 26.995, and 27.095. I don't know what kind of crystals Hobby Engine is using on their tanks though.

the hobby Engine tanks are not BB tanks. they use a simple projectile that you have to load in the end of the barrel everytime. I have seen sites that sell extra projectiles but not many. DONT LOSE THEM. As far as crystals go I have never seen anyone sell replacement or different freq. crystals. My electronics are still HE with upgraded gearboxes. Dont know who's crystals may be compatable.
You may try to contact the seller and see if they sell replacements but with them being soldered in doesn't sound promising. They obviously didn't intend for them too be replaced.
