I hears that military historians (in Germany, or somewhere else) have kept track of almost every Tiger I tank ever built as to its short history, where it fought, where it died...
Anyone knows where to find this info?

The late Ron Klages published a book called Trail of the Tigers which does indeed list the delivery dates and unit assignments of every Tiger and King Tiger produced. It also has a list explaining the demise of every units Tigers often listing the turret or serial number.
I was fortunate to obtain a copy and am happy to provide you with any specific information you'd like.
The website, Tigers in Focus, www.tiif.de, is THE place for Tiger data and photographs. Every known and published photograph is on this site and the experts routinely examine and identify unknown Tigers.
My area of study regarding Tiger tanks focuses on North African Tiger tanks, PzAbt 501 and PzAbt 504 which saw service in Tunisia.
