Default HELP: Machine Gun and Light not coming on-M26 Pershing

HELP: Machine Gun and Light not coming on-M26 Pershing. Before I go on with the building, I tested the Machine Gun and Light, both of them not coming on when I turn on the system.
I connected the Machine Gun to CNS3and the light to CN9 page 25
I'm not going any further until this is working OK.

I switch on the Transmitter
Connect the Battery
Switch in the Receiver

Play with the Transmitter Control Sticks and Machine Gun and Light not coming on.

NEED HELP
Thanks,

bobbart

Hey Brother,

Could be a very simple loose wire. Both MG and Lights share a common. Just open her up and check the wires for the lights.

I have a loose one i needto take care of on TIGER 1334.

Maybe it's out of ammo, did you check the feed tray?

I just checked, no loose wires. What are the chances that both wires aren't working?

Disregard, didn't see that this was a Tamiya question.

But we are talking about two different wires, what are the chances that both wires bad?
I also installed the Turret rotation motor and tested and notice that when I control the Left stick and push it left....the Turret rotation motor turns, but if I push the left stick to the right...nothing. Do I need to set the Tansmitter switches to REVERSE SWITCH?
Why is the left stick controlling the rotation motor only in one direction?
Ok, I need to figure the Machine Gun and Light, problem first, I dodn't want to jump the gun.

Hummmm now it could be a low battery. Or maybeyou might just try pulling the crystal from the reciever and reseating it. That might just do the trick.

Another thing to do is to start it up and play withthewires to see if it is a loose connection in the 8 pin. Also check the pins. They could be pulled out just enough that it does not make contact.

If that fails you might have a bad board.

Keep pluggin.. You'll fixi t

If your doing the page 25 steps right and IF your building the Tamiya Pershing and I believe you are: you must move the appropriate trim tab to the down position, then use the machine gun stick, are you doing that? OK then, if you are and it isn't working, reset your DMD Units per the instructions and you should be good to go. If by chance you have plugged either device into the WRONG position, there is a possible chance you have killed them.

Your going to need to do more research for your build. Your stumbling over the Tamiya Pershiing issues that have been discussed for several years now in this forum. The Pershing turret does not work well without modifying the turret rotation unit. Perhaps Bob from ETO or another Tamiya expert will join in and explain the stuff you should do and why. If you still need tips, email me Monday and I will email explain how to get good Tamiya Pershing turret rotation performance and better main gun elevation operation etc etc.

One other question on he MF-03 unit, I notice a four male plug that's labeled CN7 M.G. Fire. Do you think this has somthing to do with the Machine Gun and Light not coming on?
Guys, remember that I'm a Novice on building this M26 Pershiing tank, "Bear with me".
I will read all the above post and give it another shot after coming home from work today.
I'm sure you will be hearing from me again.

Thanks for all your inputs,
bobbart

NO and a Warning: That is where the main gun barrel Flash Unit plugs into the DMD Unit.

Flash Unit for the Barrel = CN7 M.G. Fire

Hull Machine Gun = CN3 G. Fire

Do not mess around and do free style plug and play solutions and try other plugs at random to trouble shoot issues! You will no doubt fry everything if you do that!

You must follow the Tamiya directions exactly.

This is not a creative out of the box exercise, your now in Japanese engineering assembly land with this Pershing build. LOL.

Read your instructions at least 5 times before you touch anything. You must read and then do. There is no way around that fact.

OK John, I didn't get a chance yesterday. Sometime this week I'm going to print out all the post regarding this problem and go step by step to fix it.

I will keep you posted
Thanks,

I received the swing arm today and it does not have a pin, so it looks like I can't install it into the radio, everything is not going right.
I'M REALLY GETTING FRUSTRATED building this M26. I still didn't get the time to TROUBLESHOOTING the Machine Gun and Light not problem. I'm getting to a point where I will ship all the parts and pay an experience M26 to finish biulding it for me.
I will pay shipping both ways. ANY OFFERS?????

John the lights and MG works.....what I did was set the right trim up and push the right stick up and the Machine Gun worked.
The Lights....what I did was set the Left bottom trim Left and the left stick left and the lights came on......I REALLY CONFUSE....but at least I no I don't have lose wires.
Now getting back to the swing arm: They sent me the swing arm, but they didn't send me a PIN for the swing arm the pin goes opposite of the spring holder on the arm.
Second, even if I had a pin, I can't manage to get the swing arm in the correct position in the radio?????

Thanks for your replies back,
bobbart

Great news and yes that is the sometimes the unruly magic of Tamiya DMD units.

Email or call the tech support for your radio, again, and get the missing part. John
