Default Getting Ready for the New Arrival

Hey Fellas,

Being a TIGER 1 fan, I've not done much research into the KT. Now that I am a proud owner of a KT I find my self in a pickle.

It seems that the schemes I want were on KTs that had no Zimmerit. I need a very interesting Scheme for the new TIGER.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Don

Hey Don, Merry Christmas. Yeah, I was there too. All the camo schemes I really wanted were on non-zim tanks. One night, I was looking over some photos from the Bovington tank museum as well as the French museum at Samur. I also found a color shot of some the 503rd Heavy Panzer in Budapest in 1944. The color photo was of tank number 234, but I remembered several black/white photos of #233 in Lentz's "Tigers at the Front," book. I figured they would be pretty much the same so I went with #233. Not perfect, but close enough for me. Still more to do, but it runs great. Replaced all the stock Matorro electronics with HL including an RX18 board. Put the brass motors in too. Blitz has em' as does Mato. Also used the rear idler stuff from Blitz, it works well. I also had the metal tracks, but I took them off as I realy thought they were too heavy. It's a great tank - have fun !!!

The very late KT's did not have zimm and sported transport tracks with an ambush camo. That is what I am doing to my Tamiya Henschel King Tiger.

That looks like one of the tanks of the s.pz.abt. 501st, the ones that got decimated in a Soviet ambush.

But of course Don! It'll be the middle of next year after I figure out the zimm.

You see, I'll be building both KT's at the same time.

KT produced after roughly Sept/Oct 44 had no Zimmerit applied and the VERY late KTs had 18 teeth sprocket with the new single piece track link and reinforced mudguards.

Don,

Where did you get that picture that you posted above??? Never seen that one before - now that's cool - hard to replicate, but very cool !!! I like that "octopus" scheme too. The smooth surface would definitely be erasier to put that on to.

Ralph,

Brother I was searching and searching for a neat looking look forthe new KT. I really gave up and was looking for decals for the 505th, when I happened on this.

I do think this has to be right up there with TIKI, the Charging Knight, and the TIGER with the W. Cool stuff Huh?

Oh Brother,

If it were not for the Zim on this new Kitty that is indeed the colors she would carry. I also like this

Late TIGER 1 with every bell and whislte I can get

Animated figures. Just about to complete the "how to" Then I am doing the radio operator who lifts his hatch and rasies up, looks around.
