Hey peeps,
I've been pondering the idea of converting one of my tanks to a fictional tank and I've settled on the idea of it being on the PZIII. What I haven't totally settled on is the approach in which I'll take in the overall design of it. This picture is a very, very.........very rough layout. In fact, just did it 30 minutes ago in 30 minutes, so excuse the chaos.
The actual idea is to turn the tank into a chariot of hell that will harbor zombie Nazisoldiers. I know for sure that skulls and a somewhat organic skin will embellish the tank to give theessenceof a living creature that has been mechanized.
In any event, I'd love to hear some input on the idea of this, and maybe something that would like to be seen on this tank should I decide to run with it.<br type="" />back to the drawing board

go for it!!! it's your stuff have fun with it. I have been seriously considering a camo paint job based on the patterns on my cats (real kittys) they are multitone grays with solid black spine markings moving down in graduations of dark to light gray with dark gray vertical bars. i thinks i will have another drink!

LOL! That would make for a real interesting paint scheme! If you run with that, be sure to post it!<div>
</div><div>Yeah, I'm certainly not looking for approval from the military buffs nor do I think they'd care to have a look see. It's still a tank no matter what! lol</div><div>I'm just not sure what all I'm going to do to finalize the idea. I've also considered doing this for the KV instead of the PIII,...but I think the PIII would make for an easier project since it's much smaller. I'll be ordering another one today so I can get started on the project.</div><div>

I wish I had thought of that !
Make it so it's amphibious also and make the front glacis look like a vampire piranha with big teeth..........

Well, as long as you still think it's a tank good for you! [sm=lol.gif] They do have an [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_245/tt.htm]Unusual R/C Section[/link] that it might draw more attention in, but I really don't see you having the time to do it ... or complete it.

Jeff, you killing me man!!! <div>I will, I will I will start and complete it! lmao</div><div>This stuff is second nature to me when it comes to sculpting/crafting. Unlike all this research hub bub that I have to do with my Tiger and so forth. It does suck some of the fun out of it for me when having to do that. Which is why I want to take on this little project, could likely have it done in less than a week (gosh willing.) lol

Rex, that's definitely a good idea. Not so keen on the amphibious part, but the piranha teeth is a great idea. I can envision that giving it a more H.R. Giger appeal.

Do a google search for Chaos Space marines for Warhammer 40000.
They use lots of spikey bits and skulls on thier tanks etc,may be just the inspiration you need.
The imperial guard for 40k even use a tank called the hellhound.

BigTony,
For all of the hand tools, shovel, axe, bolt cutters, etc. use some skeletal arm and leg bones instead of wooden handles.
If you make the road wheels solid you could then paint some demon faces on each of them.
Need to convert the airsoft to a flame thrower, that would look real good coming from the skulls mouth.

I've been wanting to merge my craft with my current tank hobby for a bit. While it's still under concept, once I have created a moreconcretedesign....I'm running with it.</div><div></div><div>Just examples of my previous work for some clients last year and year before.
Dinobeast there is roughly 2 and a half feet high for an undisclosed.

And the Glider creature is 1 1/2 feet long did this for a client who will to go un-named.

Why do you do this? Change/edit the title of a thread and make it useless. A simple note of your direction is all that's needed, not make it look unreadable.

Guess it's a habbit I picked up on some other forums so the thread dies off. Not that I've given up on the general idea...the path is going to have to change.<div></div><div>In any event, fixed! And I'm working on a build! lol</div>

I like the idea of a "concept tank", but might I suggest something that might actually look realistic, maybe something kinda sci-fi(see pics)?....(unless a "Dungeons & Dragons" look is what your going for)...Ive been toying with the idea of a retro sci-fi tank based on some of the 60's shows I use to watch as a kid..

Tony,
I was thinking about maybe adding "hoses" along the outside, sort of "Alien" like in the movies. If you have seen those from inside the ships and on the aliens themselves. Sort of like this pic. I have in the past thought of making an rc version of the aliens movie apc, but since I can't even finish my KT, I scrapped the idea lol. Oh and I just thought of this, use the smoke unit, but re-route the hoses so it comes out of the tank through different areas, almost like the tank is driving through fog all the time
and green lights
Cheers,
Wade

Brent and Wade, very good ideas, very good indeed! I especially like the thought of rerouting several outlets for the smoke unit (waiting on the smoker from Strmnd54). That could go quite well for a futuristic/alien type concept. I suppose a Panzer III new era edition wouldn't be a bad idea at all, I've touched on that idea before.<div></div><div>In an alternate time line where a devastating World War took place like none before, oldexistingWWII tanks were rushed back to service to cut back on limited funding, supply and manpower, and modified to suit current warfare.</div>

A scary paint job would be too easy Jimmy! lol<div>I think altering the PIII in a fashion like Brent described, making it futuristic like with moderate alterations, yet still retain the features of the PIII sounds like a really good project. I'll work out a layout before starting on it, for sure. </div>

Hi Tony,
If you are still going with the Zombie theme you could have leering faces and hands/talons coming out of the sides of the tank like its possessed or the souls of the people its killed trying to escape.
also do you have a website so we can see more of your excellent sculpting
Cheers Ian
