Well guys here it is...just about finished...just need to shorten the antenna and make an Israeli pennant for it. Also might do a little more work on corroding up the little muffler on top a bit, but other then that it's all done...."Baruk Hashem" baby!

lol... thanks...... I told you the M41 was an underated model....with a little attention I think I like it better then a lot the other WW2 models that are available....I decided to run the plastic tracks/w metal sprockets for now as they look more realisitic(metal tracks wear the paint through where the rubber pad would be and it just doesn't look right),since I cant find metal tracks/w rubber pads anymore.....but my next project is to get some metal tracks and possibly an old inner-tube and cut individual rubber pads and glue them to the metal tracks...but I need a break after this endeavor lol..
p.s. by the way its Brent not Kev lol......

Oops,lol!
I have no idea where I got that from, but I did know that! lol
I think I may just have to go ahead and get that along with the Tamiya and HL Pershing,......... that is when I'm done. I made things a little difficult on myself with the PIII, like moding the HL lights, hollowing out and modifying the air intakes instead of buying them, now just finsihing up the scratch built basket for the engine deck. I got to see some size comparisons of the Bulldog, and Ialwaysassumed that it was tiny when it really isn't.....that works for me!

Yeah its scaled a bit bigger then it actually was(I'd bet it's more like a 1/14), plus the tracks are a little wider then they really were, but hey these are all just "toys"(I know a few rivet-counters are probably having heart-attacks right now), but hell I just want to have fun and have something that looks "relatively" realistic..... and although this tank never existed its still a nice "what-if" (I do know that the IDF did play around with a few M41's but never had them in mass)....in fact there is currently a company in Isreal that sells updated m-41's(or at least use to), to 3rd world countries so they are very familiar with them..

Looks really good
- After throwing tam electronics, RCC's 3:1 steel gears and tankmodelbau's barrel into the mix, the M41 is rapidly becoming my favourite battle tank [8D]

I was thinking about 3:1 gears, but the M41 was considered a "light" tank and was fairly nimble so I'm gonna keep the stock set-up(3:1 are better for "heavy" tanks) although I might buy the upgraded steel gearboxes for it. I was considering a pershing but it looks like the IDF never had any m-26's(though I could be wrong) but I have yet to find anything online.... I'm a big airsofter so I plan on putting a tight-bore barrel, improved air nozzle/bucking/etc., to increase its power and accuracy..lol
If I wasn't keeping the airsoft, I would definatley get the scale barrel...very cool! real bummer you dont see much aftermarket stuff for these, I would love metal wheels with rubber tires/metal return rollers/metal tracks with rubber pads...but hey at least heng Long had the balls to make it(always thought it was a tough lookn lil sucker)....[sm=47_47.gif]
here's one with tamiya gear..sounds great(I especially dig the spotlight..might build one myself).. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq_bsgE_tag

Here is one thing you can do if you have a drill press it makes it easier now it will cost some but you can buy the Tamiya Pershing metal wheel arms and cut off the spring rod on it then dill a center hole the size of the wheel bolt thats on the bulldogs arm now you have metal suspension arms on the bulldog . Then after that get the Tamiya Pershing wheels and buy the ball bearing set also and the mounting shafts and you will have just added better wheels to the bulldog . I had picks but lost them when had to switch from win7 RC2 to win7 final .

Ok found them pics I said I lost . Also you may have to do some reworking of the suspension stops they are to long after changing to the Tamiya Arms.

Don, absolutely no. Most updated tank after the Sherman was the M-47, which was converted to M-47RKM. A Diesel engine was added and the British 105 gun & fire control mounted. Bow gun was eliminated and ammo tubes installed in that position.

There was a really outstanding 'what if' upgraded IDF M26 build posted on mmodell.de a while back...

Jimmy, that 60mm Israeli gun is a very potent item. It was fitted to a number of vehicles, but not widely used due to limited range. I have seen photos of an M-41 fitted with the gun, but have found nothing in the IDF history nor anyone I know there that can point to any unit that ever used them.
On Gary's reference listing, there's a lot of bad info there. Much of the initial description & data is taken from the old T-37 series experimental or test tanks. Lots of things were dropped due to expense and time frame of getting the tank into production.
No M-41 had a gun stablizer....too costly. Same with the auto load system. Neither the TC or gunner had a traversing periscope and both were solidly mounted and no provision for a hatch cover periscope as in the M-26/46. And the vent blower was operated from the turret, not the driver. Other data is good and the site is pretty comprehensive.

Nice paint job. The driver's periscopes look like they are still pointing a bit upwards. You can use some heat shrink to add rubber to the road wheels. I used rubber CA glue to create the rubber pads on my plastic tracks and truck bed liner to paint on the pads on the metal tracks. The steel gears are awesome, but heavy. I'm planning to drop in some 3:1 steel gears with a 480 motor. I recommend upgrading the springs in the rear struts to eliminate the back-end sag and adding weight to the front end to improve traction and eliminate some of the bounce.
I like the idea of using Tamiya Pershing swing arms to add better road wheels and metal swing arms. However, the cost becomes very prohibitive. If you can find someone that will cast the existing plastic swing arms in metal, that would be a great upgrade.
