There are no pics of Leopards with Digi camo...as far as I know, Marpat or Cadpat hasn't been employed on the Leopard. The closest thing would be the large squares on the Leo peace support operations tank, but I'm not making it like that.

What I want pictures of and can't find are close ups of those camera or vision ports...what ever they are. Still not sure.

As for the optics, yep. Make sure to go a couple pages back to check out my recommendations.
Which parts sprue has the parts for the gun barrel? I plan on getting the aluminum barrel for my HE Leo but I need the plastic tip and the can shaped thing towards the base

The cannon tip is in parts bag K which is a crystal clear piece and the other part is on Sprue E. May as well get the photo etch part too, you'll be able to pretty much complete the turret baskets with sprue E.

the E sprue is $25 (ouch) but I suppose its worth it for the turret baskets then. but the instruction manual says the cannon tip is from H?

anyone here put the A6 barrel on their A5? I wonder if you ould scavenge parts off of the A5 barrel

They're the longer ones for the 2A6, just more detailed from what I've been told. If you're looking for the A5 barrel, I think the last place I seen them is at the AFV-model shop and Tank zone. I don't know if one could cut the 2A6 barrel to be the 2A5 or what the difference would be beyond differences in length though.

remeber that I'm factoring in the part sprues with the gun pieces you need. the sprues cost more than the aluminum barrel!

I simply added a section os styrene tubing the same size as the barrel. The extra legnth is 1.3 meters. Which is 1300 mm in our scale. cut the barrel at the joint be hind the reference site and add the tubing. I also added a section of HL inner airsoft barrel aluminum tube to reinforce the barrel. Works fine. I do not believe the Tamiya parts will not translate over o the HE gun set up unless your are willing to scrap the whole thing and buy the entire Tamiya gun and mantlet and trunnion assembly. Quite pricey if you ask me.

Nope, no updates. Just got out of the hospital this morning, been in since lastWednesdaymorning. Had severe pneumonia whicheducedanasthmaattack that I thought I grew out of some 12-15 years ago. So, nothing has been done and won't be for a few more days. Plus I have to build my new computer which I ordered right before it allhappened, so that's first priority.

I must say....I've never had such a long break from this forum since I first signed up here and never been away from my tanks just as long since I got in this hobby.......I'm not sure if I'm detoxed from the Tank mania I was overwhelmed with or still too messed up from the recovery process....but I'm lacking a lot of enthusiasm for my tanks at this moment.

Anyway, HG.....just read some of the new stuff over you and how it has unfolded.....I just don't know what to say.

Tony, I hope you feel better soon brother. Don't worry about anything but your health. Without it, no hobby will mean very much. Trust me, I was away from the hobby for a few mnths because of things I had going on and had to attend to, and for a while I felt like I would not be into it. Well, as you know, I came back and have jumped back in head first and on fire!! Best wishes and speedy recovery!

Hey thanks a lot my friends. It's been a rough one, still a little weak, but I'm still kicking! I hope to get back to my Leo this weekend and start the painting process. Gotta get my airbrush booth working too,...so much to do! New squirrel cage blower just came in so, that should be a breeze.
Anyway, thanks guys!

Tony,

Show us pics of your digi cam Leo.

Did you install bearings instead of the bushings and how difficult was it?

I'm going to place an order for the Leo and this guide will help. +1 for the paint tutorial.

I know the last post is a month or three old...But As I have found very few 'builds' on the Leo, I wanted to say thank you to BiggTony, I just started my own thread ~ build of the Tamiya Leopard 2 A6, and am now revising my pic's - will include all from start to finish.

Your pics on the fiber optics are great! As I was very concerned in the layout, handling of that part of the build.

The rest of, I may use as a reference in my build.

Thanks again!

P.S. I very much like the interior paint !
