RE: Something different with an A4 UPDATED!!!

hopefully it will run well when it's finished. I am waiting on the TU's and some other parts to arrive. It will have elmod also and the spotlight is now operational. I will be installed working headlights and tail lights as well. No battle system for now though. I am scared of an A6 taking me out LOL.</p>

Well being that everyone seems to like the paint, I did continue on and dis the same to the lower hull and rear deck. I noticed that I am missing a front fender...don't know how I missed that before, but oh well, battle damaged I suppose can explain that away.</p>
RPG I would imagine, looks awesome Joe

Cheers,
Wade

LOL, RPG!!!!!!! Actually, as I was searching through the mess that is my work area, I found the missing fender, still attatched to the side armor. they will all be painted up and waiting for installonce I get the parts from AFV. I am going with their mounting parts for the side plates as they look much more durable than gluing them on the sides of the hull.

Ok, so tonight I finished the side armor plates and the recovered front fender. Here is my result of the progress thus far.

The jigsaw puzzle effect is amazing the top down view looks like it would blend in with almost any thing. I wonder how the effect would look in jungle colors or dessert effects. You have come up with a great effect. I.m with the other guy copyright your work now.

Well, not very much new , but there are a few things added.Still need to figure out what to do for lenses for the headlight...sigh. 8mm diameter if anyone has anything lying around. I also still have to install and wire the taillights.

<span style="font-size: larger; "><span style="font-family: Arial; ">Interesting paint approach and it did get me interested in the history, art and current science of digital camouflage.Check out these links for more on the subject and the how and why it works.

Dr. O'Neill has designed objective tests of ARPAT to compare the results in a number of environmental settings with Woodland MARAPT / Desert MARPAT and our new Advanced Generation II MARPAT: Woodland / Desert and Cold Weather (3 separate) color schemes. Actual testing is scheduled to take place within the next few months."

Very interesting. I originally intended to paint this in a black and white camo scheme as seen in the included picture. then I staretd thinking about how cool a digital camo would look in the winter colors. I tried to find pictures but apparently there are very few, if any available, so i went ahead and let the paint fly.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gifI think it came out good as this is the first attempt at anything like this.I would still like to try this type of pattern with a woodland or desert tones.

I like your camo patern better than those tiger striped ones. I think the digi camo will vanash more than the stripes will.

BiggTony: all that werld travel has put Yellowshaker ahead of you in the Leo build. This camo will be hard to top, what ya' gon'a do? Gott'a be good...

RE: Something different with an A4 UPDATED!!!

Way more interesting than the NATO paint scheme from a modeler's point of view. I think your Leo has a very good cold weather fighting camo interpretation on it too and digital paint finishes are something to really consider for future modern era armor builds.

RE: Something different with an A4 UPDATED!!!

Well, thanks alot guys. Now that the paintwork is coming to completetion and the new TU's are in place I need to get moving ona new Elmod Pro from Phil. Once that get's here, I will set up the servo for recoil and wire in the lighting. Still looking for a lens set for the headlights, but that is minor. The tank will have working taillights and brake lights as well as a very bright spotlight on the mantlet.
I also will need to gauge the sppeed and then decide on either adding larger motors and pssibly a 12 or 14 tooth pinion for top speed. All of this will have to wait til after the holidays.
Now, back to the Tiger 1....

Looking at your paint job just blows me away. Nothing I can add to how extremely wicked this looks and messes with my eyes. Truely if you are not expecting to see it through a sighting scope I don't think you would notice you had seen it. Well done!!!:D
