so i just got in to rc. my new one is a shockwave. i started to drive it and it tens to keep driving even if im not holding down on the gas. what i need to do so it wont keep doing this?

with the engine off and the radio on, remove the air filter. pull the throttle and watch the carb open and let it close. when your throttle just reaches neutral, you want the carb to just reach as closed as possible. If this is not what is happening, you want to adjust the throttle trim on the radio so it does stop there. There will be a small slit where it stops, that is where the idle is set. you can even have it be closed for a little extra of throttle movement. just a tiny amount. but too much and the brake will drag.
If this is not it and the engine just idles high, turn the idle screw counterclockwise until the rpms drop enough that it doesn't stall but it is not trying to make the car move. you want the centrifugal clutch to not be engaged or even touching the clutch bell making it move when the car is idling..
