RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
I don't know how many Hellfire owners there are out there that read this thread anymore but for those of you you who still love their little piece of Truggy history might want to join the HPI Hellfire Club on Facebook here:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/h...group_activity
Maybe see you there?
Thanks.
Got the GST Diffs in now by the way and they work great. Just waiting for some integy MSR7 shocks usually about $90 but integy's website had the silver versions on offer for only $29.99!!!!!!!! If you are quick they may have some left.

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Man am I a happy Hellfire owner!
Well here is the story. It has been sitting on the bench since last fall, and today was the first nice day we have had in Iowa so I decided to bring out my Hellfire. Last year the mid range needle fell out so I lost my tune and couldn't get it running right so I gave up. Well I put it on the starter box today and it fired right up and I ran a tank through it at 165 degrees to lube it up and then tuned it right up to 240 degrees.
And now I am in love with my Hellfire again

Great video Nitro.
Parts on ebay all the time. Recommend buying a second roller to raid for spares though.

I lost my mid range needle when i first got the rtr with the k4.6ho engine. Common problem on that engine. That engine had good torque.

Roger that thank u. What about the center diff? Any problems with it. I'm slowely getting my HF ready. I got it off ebay 2 years ago as a 3/4 roller. I think its time I finally started peicing it together. Its not a SS. What other upgrades are 100% necessary for durability. I will not be racing. Just bashing.

My bevel and pinion gears stripped out of my diffs. Should I replace them with the stock gears or is there another brand that would work? I don't want to buy a whole new diff set, just the things that I need.

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Well I have read like the first 50 pages of this thread and and read that the Hot Bodies Spiral crown and pinion are better and harder than the stock gears. But my question is does the 43T crown work with the stock diff housing? And does the stock driveshaft slide right on to the Hot Bodies 10T pinion?
These are the gears I am talking about

This is the complete assembly, but I think the pinion is reduced for the coupling and might be too small for the HF.Thepinion in the pic is 8mm and then reduced to 5mm.

That diff set is for the D8 series. Do those also fit the Hellfire? I thought it was just the lightning diffs that work in the Hellfire.
Thanks for the reply nitroexpress

Lightening Stadiumparts will work, but are harder to find and sometimes more expensive.

Just bumping to keep this thread alive any HF owners out there still? join the HPI Hellfire Club on face book!
In regards to the diff talk above, I use CEN GST diffs in mine, they fit straight in to the HF diff casings and are soooo much stronger.
Still loving my baby!

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Ok so I just took a HF in as payment for a 50 dollar debt. It runs and drives with all factory parts and a roto start. I have no plans to race this and no real plan to do major stunts. I just love driving it That being said it is running really rich and I have no idea how to fix. I would love to getting it running right. also I am new to Nitro RC cars and am trying to learn all that I can. If any one could see it in their heart to point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Also not to drag this off topic I have 2 Kyosho spiders that i am trying to rebuild from years of abuse at the hands of someone else.

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Congrats on the new truck. Check out the HPI website for the owners manual. In there you will find the instructions on how to set the needles on the engine. Depending on what fuel the previous owner ran compared to what youre using you may need to reset the needles to stock and retune it from there.
Here are a few links about engine break in that might be helpful if you are new to nitro
