the hobby dealer i bought it from has the same engine with out the rotostart on it.

what is a "Bump start"?

So you would recomend the kit for flat out racing?
I LOVE to take stuff apart or put stuff togther.
What stuff do I need that is Not Included in the kit?
And what do I need to buy to put the Novarossi in? Exp, Pipe, Shims.

thanks.

If you plan on using a starter box, it's advisable to swap but you could still run it with the rotostart on and have another starting option available to you. I ran my 528 like it last year in my LSP.

If you visit truggyracer website you'll find all you need to know about engines, pipes, tires, setups..... good, specific stuff there.

Does the roto start backplate allow the engine to sit low enough in the chassis for a starter box? If it does, the roto start would be a good back up starter to keep on the engine. I would run a regular back plate and rely on the starter box. I just like less moving parts cause there is less to go wrong or come loose and all that stuff. About the clutch bell, 15 tooth is too tourqy and allows the truck to carry it,s front wheels when you least expect it and 17 teeth makes the truck go to fast to drive on the tight sections of the track and the bell heats up too much from clutch slippage. 16 teeth seems to be just right. The CRT is a light truck and this engine is extreme over kill and it isnt even broke in all the way. I'm going to run a stock 528 sleve when the Hotmod one is cooked. I'm also going to try a 3 chamber EFRA pipe and the new RMV locking clutch to try and get a handle on this beast.

what fuel would you recomend for the nova rossie rex 528?
20% or 30%?
which would make the engine run cooler?
would the ofna p2 pipe work ok on this 528?
thx Dirby.

I've been using 20% but you have to lean out the high end to get it started and richen it up after it is warm. 30% would run cooler on super hot days. The JP2 is perfect.

Hello everyone.

I want to start by saying this is a great forum and I am very very new to RC.
I just bought a X1 CRT RTR and did a 7 tank break-in. It seams to be running great.
I do have a few questions about what is out there for it and what I need to get.

I am looking for a good setup guide for it. Also looking to see if there are any dirt shields for it.
What other hop ups are out there for it I am having trouble finding any after market parts for it.
Are there any bodies for this car once I tare mine up?

Also any thing you can tell me that might make my life easier with my new X1 CRT RTR.

Thank you all for your help.

I see in Jammin 101's car that there is a lot of exhaust hose. Would seem to me that shorter is better for that. What is the general opinion on that?
Pressure line should be between 8" - 12". Jammin 101's is way too long.

Sorry Dirby, I have not seen one yet. They have great features but I would have to feel one in my hands and try it out.

Sighh....

My radio had to get sent off for service, Tx stopped talking to Rx, and my engine (528XR) had an issue with the carb and had to be sent off for replacement. I was told the production run that my engine was in has had several carbs that were sticking across the whole range of travel after slight heat was applied. Novarossi is correcting the problem but it SUCKS having to sit out so many races! I am having withdrawl symptoms!!!

As far as the CRT, I have been racing the crap out of it and had some pretty wild crashes with absolutely no broken parts, except for the body cracking. This is one tough truck!

Hey Dirby, I have been running 55wt/front and 40wt/rear for the entire season on three very different tracks and the only changes I need to make is the roll center by moving the upper control arms around and the camber of the tires. You will have to do some test time to find the right set up for you. As far as the diffs, 7000/front 20,000/center and 2000/rear works great for me but that depends alot on driving style, track conditions and how crazy your engine is. When I run my Novarossi 528 XR, I have to use 50,000 in the center to be able to drive the beast.

I've found a 15t cb a good match to the 528. The engine has the torque to overpower tires and the revs to tackle the longest straights. It actually makes the bottom-end a bit more controlable.

roaddell.
you pays your money and you takes your choice.
some of the guys here had them and some have goten rid of them.
some say vspec some say nova rossie p5
one thing about the p5 is that they use a regular plug not the expensive turbo plug.
i had a v spec in my jammin and i got so agravated with it i gave the whole thing away.
jammin spectrum rec hitec servo 1400mh bat pack jp2 pipev spec engine
right from the first day i had the v spec i had nothing but trouble trying to run it .
it was so tight that it would lock up on tdc and i would have to take a screw driver and turn the flywheel over to free it so it would turn over to be able to start.
well now that motor can bother the guy i gave it to and it won't bother me ever again.
i am looking real close at a p5x for my next motor i have a novarossie rex 528 in my hellfire and i have never had any tyrouble starting it what so ever.
so the choice is up to you.
Dirby.

i've had my rtr for about 2 weeks now and i have beat it senseless and only had to replace the rear shock shafts. i dont regret the purchace a bit. i took it to the track for the first time yesterday and for not having no track exp. i laid down some decent laps with it. not bad for a rookie racers
