Default Wich motor for crt???

Ok killed the stock motor that comes with the Jammin CRT. Its non rebuildable. The pin on the end of the crank sheered off and cracked the bottom of the case.
I need a new motor for under $200 that doesnt cost alot to build. Im going to be doing a bit of racing but nothing too serious. I was thinking about the mach .26 or the 427 or the jpx.28 What are you guys rinning and what do you like. Thanks

I say you should go with the STS 30, if that is to big for racing then go with the STS 28, but if you can run a 30+ engine at were you race then go with the sts 30, the 30 has more power and more rpms, but both engines very fast. Which ever you can race at your local track.

Like me I cracked the piston of my stock engine. Got myself a JPX 28 really tough and strong also as engine its pretty small compared to other engines. This thing smokes STS,s 28 or not by the bucket. Dont know about the RB engines by what Ive seen they,re real good too

you sould also consider the .21s they are a bit cheaper because thier smaller and thier lighter, and suitable to racing.

Jpx21 is more expensive then the 28. And most racing 21 are more expensive too. Taking example the vspec, ninja and varouis RB motors

My truggy has a STS d21T for it. But for bashing purposes, its getting an STS D28M. the 30 is really overkill for a truggy. the .28 is also a lot easier on the fuel consumption.

PM me and i can hook you up better than R9.

You are one of the very few. Go ask what Rick Brake thinks of them... second to only rossi.

The sts d28m puts out more horsepower AND torque over the RB Tm728.

if it was hard to tune and had no power there was likely something wrong...usualy they have tons of power and are fairly easy to tune.... They are fast motors if dialed in, no question.

that is basicly a Picco 28, and its definitely a fast motor... faster then a STS 28 for sure and is a good run with a STS 30....

its only junk to you because you don't know how to tune. Just because you failed at doing something doesn't mean the item you tried using is junk.

well in his defense I have seen some pretty sill QC issues with STS mills... never anything major, but enough to cause alot of problems if people dont catch the issues... for one it seems STS has a habbit of putting the wrong o-rings inthe carbs, especialy the LSN... this leads to a LSN that feels extremely loose, and will not only vibrate around but will also cause an airleak... As well some of the 28's and 30's came with extremely loose pinch... STS has great customer support for customers who have a problem, but unfortunately some people dont even realise there is a problem and just write the brand off totaly...

here is a video of Jammin Jay driving my STS powered CRT... Jammin Jay runs his own CRT with a JPX .28...at the end of the video listen to what he says about the way my CRT pulls (its now Integra;s CRT LOL)

The guy just asked for suggestions on a good motor for under $200, he did not ask for all the personal garbage. Post your suggestion and leave it alone. I'm quite sure he does not want to hear about your bad personal experiences. There are thousands of rc engines sold each day and just because there are some people who have a problem or problems does dot mean the particular product is crap. Some people think that the CRT is crap, but anyone who knows RC should know different. Same as with STS. They make superb engines that are reasonably priced. There are some good .28 engines under $200 to put into your truggy. Try amainhobbies, carolinasrc, racernine, axialracing, or stsmicroengine. They all sell affordable .28 eninges. They are respected sites and sell quality engines. Hope this helps.

well, i'm not too sure because i don't see a price listing let alone a product listing for it. it is a Picco engine, made to Jammin specs, probably in the 3 digit range.

For what I paid for here for the JPX28 It came to around 300 dollars in your money which is a great price for the power IMO
