Default breaking 8t diffs

I rebuilt+filled all diffs in my 8b&8t and wondered about ways to break fresh diffs in after refilling ... also in truggy when I turn the wheels in reverse motion by hand every couple turns it feels like the rear diff misses or slips and I wondered if theres somthing wrong ? when I turn them in forward /regular motion they are fine . thanks

alum inserts on the rear diffs ? have u ever shimmed the rear diff ?....remove the rear end and make sure thats where its coming from.....check with the case open to see whats up.....and take a Gooood look at the teeth of the ring gear....i had one Twist and make the rear end all crunchy when i got my T used.....but once I personally rebuilt it with a new R+P and shimmed it to be Silky smooth it was alll good.

there are aluminum inserts (I didnt know til I tore them down, was bought used as well) It feels like the rr diff and i'll check (shim planetary gears inward?). on the orings on buggy do you put the metal oring on in buggy diffs ? in my manuals it has metal orings over the rubber grommet in truggy and none in manual on the buggy ?

no u shim the Ring gear.....pending on what the mesh is doin.....and for the shim under the o-ring....are you using the HD diffs? i took that shim out after i installed the HD's....as i found that shim to Gouge a small ring into the o-rings and imo cause them to fail and leak.

I was rebuilding spare diffs as well and I got the hd and old style diffs mixed up so Im going to switch back to the hd and then see what happens ( if it needs shimmed or not ) I tried shimming the pinion on the old style diff and it was too tight , I did have an extra diff that was messed up and I figure that this was the one ... the grub screw on the rr pinion & outdrive was stripped and this all has gave me time to cut that off and change as well ... thanks INTEGRA !

the Spider gears never need shimming.....only what comes in the package with the cups.....the only thing i shim on my rear diffs if the Ring gear....im pretty sure there's are least .3mm worth of shims...it makes the diff a Hair wider then the inserts will allow...but if u "click" one side in the kinda press on it....it should pop right in and be silky smooth.

Ah ha .. I see .. I really didnt understand where and what or how and tried to google and found nothing .. I had never rebuilt diffs that I used , only my old rtr t .. Im just working on good habits with upkeep and stuff .. took 20 hours to rebuild both b&t and spare diffs along with new diff cases and a few other parts .. I know fellas that take 8hours to rebuild 8bs and now while using power tools and gaining experience Im aiming for less than 6hour rebuild time each .. its a pain for about 5 minutes , blink a couple times and your done lol ..
