A few questions
Looking at 2 starter boxes... the ofna truggy box and the ofna chrome top
question can 2 stick packs be used with the chrome top?
which would be best 2 7v stick packs, 12v gel cel, 11.1v lipo pack
and what will be a good lipo charger (budget)
also looking at a nice budget engine just for bashing around but I prefer the .21s

RE: A few questions
I would go with the novarossi over the GO or OS..I know that their are a lot of GO and OS fans but it's hard to beat a novarossi. If you look on a lot of the forums people are complaining about the VG not lasting past 2 gallons, the GO has carb issues..I have been told that it's not a common problem..I would go with the novarossi.

RE: A few questions
I have a chrome top with a gell cel. It's heavy. My bag with my truck and all my gear weighs a ton.
Li-po would be nice for that alone. Other than that I love this starter box.
It had issues with breaking in my hyper .21 this week, however the pinch was RETARDED tight so i can't blame it.

RE: A few questions
After talking to guys on here I went with the ofna truggy box 10244. I would go with that one. After setting it up and getting the pegs set in the right spot my engine fired on the first little push..Sweet. And its a fairly small box. Id get it over the big chrome top. Also Im running off the 12v.

RE: A few questions
I have the smaller chrome top and it's still heavy. I got it for a song so I can't complain.
I was looking at that blue truggy one. It looked like the one to have.

RE: A few questions
oh and another question would a 11.1v 1200 mah lip0 be better than a 12v gel cell
If i go lipo on the starter box then i would go lipo on the receiver and run a regulator. I might even go lipo on the radio while I'm at it
If i go gel cell i would go nimh on the receiver same goes for the stick packs (2x 7.2v 1500mah)

Voltage is voltage, no matter what kind of battery it is. 11.1V is less than 12V. Plus, 1200mah wouldn't get you many starts. A gel cell is 7000mah so you can hammer on the box all day long without worrying about it going dead.
The typical starter box lipo is 14.8V and 2200mah. That gives you considerable more torque out of the box than a gel cell, but the capacity is much less. You should still get at least a full race day on one charge though. It's also much lighter.
Two stick packs would give you 14.4V and depending on what you wanna spend, you can get about 5000mah capacity. So you get almost the same power as a lipo, but double the capacity. But two stick packs of that capacity would still run you close to what a single lipo would cost you; maybe more.
