15c is ok but I would connect two of these in parallel just to have more torque @ 4.4 amps

I run 2X 2650mAh 4S 25C 35C burst on my Ofna Blue box. lasts about 4 weeks before charge,
Mines broken in several motors and no bubbles as of yet.
OS .28XZ, 2 OS Speeds, RB C6, several V Specs.....

It's been in my Ofna truggy box, AE 1750 box and is currently in my Son's Losi 8B 2.0 rtr box.
My boxes also get used by several others at the track, so they don't exactly live an easy life.
I can go 2-3 racedays on a single charge, no problem.

You will burn the switch out of the box before you hurt the battery.
I also run some el cheapo eBay lipos with zero issues.

I've ran stick packs, gel cells, jumper cables off of my pick up truck...you name it, I've tried it.
Once you go lipo, you will throw rocks at anything else.

EDIT>>>14.8V per pack.

No more expensive than a decent set of nimh packs.

The expensive part is the charger, but those can be had for a song if you look in the right places.

I paid $50 for my ProTek starter box pack last year, and I recently bought 2 4S 4000 15C packs off of eBay for $50 shipped to my door from Taiwan.

Here's another one for ya....

[link=http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6785]Hobby City 4S pack[/link] $22.95

[link=http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7028&Product_Name=Turnig y_Accucel-6_50W_5A_Balancer/Charger]Turnigy Accucel-6 lipo charger[/link] $34.99

$57.94 plus $7.99 shipping=$65.93

You will spend $45-50 on 2 stick packs that won't last anywhere near as long or give anywhere near the performance.

It don't get any cheaper than that.....

This pack is a 20C pack. For $5 more you can get the 30C pack.

A little overkill, but whatever floats your boat.

The cheapest 3000 nimh stick packs that I could find were $25 each

you are looking on US sites for the nimh prices but on Asian sites for the lipo prices... no fear

If you can get the nimh for $20, then go get them.

It doesn't matter to me what you run.

I'm using a 12v gel in my TRUGGY START (2 motors) and it's working great for my .28 where before 2 7.2v sticks could not last me half a day (new engine) The 12v rocks!!!!

I guess it's a progressive kind of thing...

I started out with stick packs, went to a gel cell, then on to lipo packs.

I know I'll never use anything else.

in one starterbox ia am using a 12v gel cell, get those super cheap since I work in IT and do alot of maintenance on backup units which use the same type of battery... in my losi box I have just 2 cheapo 1400 venom NiMh stick packs, and have started my 8ight probably 9 times now... including break in and thropugh some issues. they work just fine if you ask me...

stick packs are a joke. unless you have bunch of time to waste. i use a turnigy charger and a zippy 4s. sure it takes a while to get your product from hobbycity but you will be turning over any engine nice and easy. using stick packs with fresh engines is rediculous. even with a gel it can be a pain. with a cheap 4s lipo your in the drivers seat every time

Oh, let me think......2 quailifiers, the main and about 3 to 4 practice runs, that is per average race day.
I charge them at 2 amps at the begining of the day and they are good for the whole race day.
