What diff oil to use depends on the track and personal handling preferences. Just start with whatever the manual says to use and go from there.
Here's the Xray Setup Book for Buggies/Truggies. It should tell you what the effects of using different weight oils along with everything else.

I ran (in my ST-1... similar to your RC8E) about:
10,000 center
7,000 front
2-3,000 rear (2,000 was good for drifting on gravel but other than that it seemed WAY loose for me)
Just go from there as a starting point, also track conditions affect how your handling is.... and don't forget camber, caster.... those can make a huge difference also [X(]
