Hi all,

What are good replacements for the slob in the steering linkage and steering rods in the Hellfire?

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

What setup are you running? RTR/SS, servo, geometry?

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

Can we start a list of hellfire hop-ups so we all know what to search for?

The manufacturers i know of are:

HPI (engine mount, spur gears, clutch bells, springs, wheel/tyre combos)
EDIT (?)
Integy (chassis braces, sus arms)
GPM / Proline (23mm hex adapters)
JDCarbon (hinge pins, turnbuckles)

Please add more...

well i have a hellfire ss with a stock setup only i have 40 wt shock oil. i also noticed though that when it steers, the inside wheel is turned very sharply, but the outside wheel is hardly turned at all. maybe i have too much toe-out?

try rearward holes on your ackerman. I'm running 2 deg. toe out.

I modified the knuckles on mine. Drill a new hole for the steering link about 1/4" closer to the wheel. The outside wheel will turn more with this mod.

do you have any pic's?

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

how much turnning radius do you have?

I cranked my wheels all the way left and held a piece of chalk against the tire as I rolled it in a circle. I came out with a 40" circle on the floor so I guess that would be my off power turning radius.

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

I will have to check the turn radius. I will shoot some pics tonight. Here is a good drawing showing ackerman.

Uhh.. what ever U do.. dont get high torque motor in it (im using LRP z.28 Spec3 truggy).. It will tear up all pinions and differentials ... Or atleast use 17 or 18T Clutchbell Or even more.. .. Stock 13T.. is realy messing all things up.
Otherwise... hell is a good car, when U get setup right.

Possible 2 speed Hellfire!

ok i have found the Kyosho 2 speed transmission for the inferno / landmax, it might fit the Hellfire with some possible modification not to sure yet.

I got an problem with my hellfire engine..can`t adjust the engine so it runs good, it leaks fuel out of the front bearing in the engine! what can i do?

fasteddie2 08-07-2007 06:55 AM

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

the leak is making you engine run rough.

it sounds like your engiine may be on its last leg.

you can remove the bearing and replace it. But if the outer bearing is bad the inner is getting close to be bad also.

To replace the inner you need to do a complete teardown and may have to heat your block to remove it.

I would just replace the outer and see if you can get the rest of the summer out of it and think about a new motor next year.

I am going to get my hellfire today what are some things you would buy to make your hellfire great? Things like engine, clutch, clutch bell. Money is not to much of a problem have some cash saved up for upgrades. Also what kind of speeds can the hellfire run
