RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

Hi all,

I have the hellfire kit.

The only "problem" i have is a bit of "slack" in some parts.

Do the Alu part from GPMracing (front and rear knuckle arm, front c-hub, front and rear lower arm) the trick??

Are the Alu parts realy so much better?
What else can i do?

regards,

Roy

When you say "tail happy" do you mean the rear end comes up? the shocks wont have much afftect, you probably need to get the ss rear wing which will give you more downforce on the rear.
Yea, I mean the rear end comes up.
Thanks for the info, I will try the wing.

Remember you must have some "slack" or "give" or otherwise you will start breaking other components!

BUY GPM ALU. PARTS = WASTE MONEY.

If u want to buy alu. parts , I prefer Golden Horizon or speedtech parts coz they are made of 7075-T6 ALLOY.

GPM is a HK company , factory located in China.

I guess they just made of soft alloy.

Hey guys, I think I'm having an issue with my servo. When my controller shuts off or runs out of batteries, the servo automatically pushes half way on the throttle. My hellfire then starts to accelerate. The other day I took it out and the controller died. The hellfire kept going and I had to run after it to shut it off. This totally sucks. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

It's not uncommon. Always make sure your transmitter full of juice. Second, turn your receiver off first, then the transmitter.

gtr ----- the GPM stuf is 6065 T6 , pretty soft not very good, stick with Golden Horizons or EDIT which make out of 7075, Tough as nails

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

Royce.C - tip dont let the battery run out! LOL... may sound obvious but time how long it lasts and dont use it any longer.

Alternatively buy a failsafe, there are several threads about the pro's and cons of a failsafe but i am all for them, for like $10 you will never have to run after your car again.

speedtech also... forgot about them

Thanks, I'm getting a failsafe now haha. I have another question though, I'm interested in buying a reverse module. Are they available for the hellfire? The only one I can find is for the hpi savage 4.6. My roto start came in a box that said hpi savage all over it but was compatible with my hellfire. Same idea?

anyone got a link to a UK site that sells the EDIT Hellfire parts?

vindicator65 07-15-2007 06:24 AM

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

yup, there several places that sell EDIT parts

http://www.jespares.com/catalog/index.php
http://www.lstshop.co.uk/catalog/index.php
http://www.modelsinmotion.co.uk/index.asp

If you look at RC-Edits web site there are not very many hellfire parts listed, however there are several more option parts due to be released this year, which are listed in the 2007 catalogue, some of which are listed on the uk distributor site (Mirage racing)
Here:

http://www.mirageracing.com/news.php?article=589

They are 7075 alu and look the daddy! Also not listed is an alu steering bell crank which i am eager to get a hold of as i keep breaking mine (Problem with the hellfire and a 200oz servo, coz the servo saver is junk) it is similar to the one listed on the Rc-edit site for the LSP #ED010151

I often wondered if this could be made to fit the hellfire, but I do not know the height of it.

(the servo saver would need swapped out, and the bell is the other way round to the hellfire but that wouldn’t be a problem)

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

While i remember... regarding the failsafe, i own a durax one which was pretty cheap and cheerful, and it came with a pre-set ‘safe’ condition so when I turned it on without the radio connected i.e. the failure condition. It opened up the servo to its maximum extent, regardless of and transmitter set ‘end points’ and because the servos are reversed in my hellfire I sheared the throttle servo arm and had to replace it. So my advice would be to plug it in without the servo arm installed and set a short ‘Fail condition’ first before attaching it and setting the real ‘fail condition’. This way you should avoid any damage…. You will understand what I mean when you get it. Sorry if this is a little cryptic I have just woken up (Saturday zzzzzzzzzzzzzz)….LOL

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

Thanks Vindicator65, I totally understand. BUT Whaaat? No reverse module for the hellfire? Hmmm maybe I'll have to wait for a bit for sure they will come out with something.

Hellfire V Revo 2.5

Hellfire 1 REVO 0

Has a good session Wednesday evening, did so massive jumps and all was good, luckily it was towards the end of the sess, had a little bump with a REVO, i have a bent front shock tower, bent shock shaft, poped out the bottom hinge pin! REVO had snaped upper arm front, bent steel drive shaft, snaped rear tie-bar, felt a bit bad as it was the guys first time out with it lol.

Front shock tower for the SS dosent seem to be that strong! not sure wether to get a carbon fiber or RTR ally one.

I'm getting ready ready to start building a hellfire ss kit. I want to buy some kind of shim kit for the diff's or any other part that needs it. Can anyone recommend one that comes with a variety of shims.
