RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Did anyone else have real problems screwing the turnbuckles into the upper suspension arms and ball ends?
Been trying for half an hour and still havent got one in yet! [sm=angry.gif][sm=48_48.gif] |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
You do know that one side of each is a reverse thread right? You might be turning them the wrong way.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Yeah, been checking the threads but they just wont bite
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
What you can try is to get a #2 size phillips screwdriver and stick it in the head of the arms and spin it a couple of times to hollow the end out a little to allow the turnbuckle to reach in just a bit further and catch the threads. It was a a pain for me too. My hands started cramping up when I did mine.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
try using them as a bit and screw them in with a drill, little at a time though. you should be able to loosely tighten a drill onto the other threaded end and screw it in, no cramps.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Here is the situation I had about decided to get the TTR ST-1 because of the price at A-Main but now have narrowed it down to the ST Pro and the ST-RR so here is the question in all of your opinion do you think the ST-RR is 250$(400$ST - 650$ST-RR cheapest I can find on both) better. One other question are the supplied tires with ST raceable if so that will add to the savings, I will also get the like manufacturer's buggy in the upcoming months(8.5 or 777 wc) so if the OFNA is the choice I will save money twice.

Thanks for those - got one end into suspension arm, but ball end still proving difficult, getting worried about making a mess of the thread now!
Could someone please take a picture of a steering knuckle end on, with the wheel off? Cant decide if ive put that togeher right either. Thanks alot! ;) |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I would say it is expensive. I have probably spent close to 5-6k this year on this stuff!!:( Just bought a hyper st pro about a month and a half ago and now just ordered a St-RR today.

Thanks alot! ;) To me it doesnt look right where the bottom of the knuckle housing fits into the arm, making the knuckle lean back too much. What do you reckon? Sorry for being a noob pain in the asre! |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
vnmsgt.... those knuckles look nothing like mine, I have polished knuckes on my Hyper. I know yours is a pro but do you think those would fit my RTR? if so I may switch to them if I have any problems with mine. They look tougher. think they are the same?
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
They should bolt right up. I think mine are CNC billet aluminum and yours may be cast aluminum. If that is correct than mine are alot stronger than yours.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
wish I wouldve known that can you get me a part # and then I can order them. I will have mine there this weekend and a Tiger. Thanks man
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Part number is 87304 for the ST PRO.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
wouldnt happen to have the crossover # for that part do you? you see OFNA has a cross with their part #s starting with 87 and usually its 19 but I cant find those at Ofna with that number.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
nevermind bro, I found it. DUH it was 19304 I guess I was looking too fast. man at $51.00 I may wait til I break one tho!!!

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
mate get them off fleebay...i just bought rear+front chubs with the cnc knuckles and bearings for 27 fitty plus 8 bucks shipping..
they are so much stronger than the cast ally.. |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
thanks wrat, I will look on there to see if I can find em. does the place you bought them from have an online store? maybe I can get them there.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Can anyone tell me if the ST PRO will accept a pull start engine without mounting mods? I never seem to have much luck with starter boxes and I really don't want to cart one around either. I have already converted some of my cars and trucks to the Roto Start, and would like to get to an all Roto Start fleet.
I put a Roto Start engine in my Associated Team GT and wound up having to put washers under the motor mounts to get rear clearance. I would not want to have to do that on a ST PRO because it introduced some minor additional chassis flex to my GT. Thanks in advance! |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
No dice dude.. Gotta put at least two small washers on the engine mounts..
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I put the rotostart on and had to put washers to clear.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
why not just order the rtr motor mounts? that comes as a pull start.
