RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
So what other rims will work with OEM fit for the Hyper ST PRO? And what offset?
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I have Losi LPR wheels with 1/2" offset and Pro-line LPR holeshot tires. Bolt right up. Also cheaper then buying the regular MT wheels and MTR crimefighter tires from Pro-line.

ORIGINAL: droidswarm Yay! finally cracked the gearbox open. Cant see anything immediatley wrong which would cause the CVD to stop? Can your expert eyes spy the problem? How do I tell if its shimmed right? Cheers Once you have done this put the diff case back together and screw the 4 large screws in and see if it still binds. If it does try another shim. Its trail and error till the diff spins freely. |

ORIGINAL: j_blaze ok, i got the hyper 8.5 c-hubs with 18, 20 and 22 degree adjstments. what does this angle on the steering do. i started with the 18 degrees and it looks like the outside tire turns way more than the inside tire. i'll have to see how it goes on the track. i just had to mod the inside of the arm so it would reach full down travel, the c-hub was rubbing a bit. anybody? i guess trial and error then. |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Just to let you guys know I found a set of foams that are stiffer than stock that will fit your stock ST-PRO wheels and tires. The stock set of foams is not molded and is way too soft and nobody makes a set of LPR foams seperately. My LHS is closing shop and has everything 50% off so I got a set of OFNA part# 81101 foams just to see if they would fit and if I had to shave them down to fit. Well I put them on and they work. It is a tight fit but if you work the foam and the tire it will go on. Now the stock wheels are tires are much stiffer and should handle better too.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
i used the proline ones, bit tight but work perfect. the 18 degree c-hub is making the outside tire turn more because i was running 2 degree toe-in in the front. now i can use some toe out and have a bit more control coming out of the turns, sweet. had the st out in a mudded up track and it ate up the clutch shoes, locked up on the third tank. gonna switch to the stock wheel and shoes and see how that goes.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Hi All,
At my brother-in-laws so I am logged in on his account. I got my Hyper ST Pro all setup with a JR 9000t for the steering servo and a JR 9000s for the throttle/brake servo. The stock servo arm for the Throttle that came with the kit is a futaba spline fit. I noticed, the hardway, that the servo arm is elevated on one side so the brake throttle linkages don't hit the servo box. My question is what other servo arm can I use with the JR splines? I got a Dynamite aluminum servo arm with both sides but it wasn't elevated on the one side and that is how I found this out. Other then that the kit came together nicely. You can see Habao put some thought into this as this is some beefy truggy. Thxs all, Spikeitaudi |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Anybody have problems with braking on there hypers. I have a PRO kit and my friend a RTR and the brakes always fade about half tank through a run and feel like they do not work anymore and cannot control the car in the air over jumps. If I let the car sit about 15 minutes then it has brakes again on my PRO but my friends RTR always has to be adjusted after sitting. I cannot even adjust the brakes to work right after they fade, adjust does nothing. Do you think it is just the servo not being strong enough. We are both running a spektrum 590 with 80oz of torque for the throttle and brakes. We both have spektrums and I know how to adjust the settings on them correctly because I have no problems with brakes at all with my ST-RR and Monsoon and buggies I have, just the HYPER!!! It is really starting to annoy us[sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif]

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Hey Muggy. You must have shown up when I was in the bath room or something. I was there the whole time too becaue it was at my house. LOL
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
80oz of torque isn't that much but I use the same on my revo and it provides plenty on my revo with front and rear brake. Now on the hyper ST I don't know. That is why I went with the JR9000s. Didn't want to worry about that.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
the servo is not very strong but the hyper has breaking problems, my uncle's ST PRO doesn't brake at all with adjustments and he's using a Hitec 625MG (around 95oz of torque), but my dads Race Roller brakes perfectly, but he's using this: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/13087 and he's also using a Hitec 5625MG (130oz torque) He ran a 30 min main at our track without loosing any brake power.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I do run a hitec 645MG on my kyosho with 140oz. I have a couple of extra's and also a extra JR650 servo I could use and see if that helps. I hope so. It sucks running awesome for a couple of laps and then look like a total retard off jumps and stuff when I cannot control it anymore:D
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I just can't imagine the brakes being that bad, but I guess I will find out when I get it out on the track. Whenever we thaw out here in the northeast :)
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
They ARE that bad. I have never had this bad of a brake problem on anything I have ever owned yet! Other than that it has been an awesome truggy!
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
i can't complain about the braking, don't brake much. i just use a little rear drag brake, full brake is only to bring the nose down, no issues yet. the truck fly's so good already, with just the little drag brake i still have to give it gas at the bottom to even it with the landing. still lovi'n the hyper, plus mine is the only one out here:D so far.
