RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Can somebody tell me: should my truck be sagging with 60wt all around? It's not sagging too much, but it seems more like 30 than 60...
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
sagging? sounds like you need some preloads put on.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
What other bodies fit on the Hyper ST Pro?
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Dude, I JUST got a Proline Quick-lidz bod in the mail - CP2.0 for Mugen MB5XT.. And it ain't looking good... The JConcepts for Mugen fit pretty well - this has me worried..
Still cutting... Fingers crossed - it's an AWESOME looking bod.. See revopqrs' in the truggy pic thread - last page I think.... |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Yee-haw!! It fits... Pics in a sec...
OK, here're the pics.. Took a bit of trimming, and pressing and shoving in the rear(the Hyper rear shock towers are HUGE..), but it's doable.. The pipe sticks out pretty far, and my JP-2 has a big fat stinger, so I had to dremel a good size hole.. The LRP cooling head seems pretty huge too, so that took some more dremeling.. I think the bod looks great though.. Even the non-Quick-lidz version of the Proline CP2.0 for MBX5T.. Taking suggestions on what to back it with.. Right now I'm thinking all white.. With a couple red Hobau and ST stickers, I think all white backing would look best.. But suggest away!!.. (ps It's not completely trimmed.. I just hacked the main excess away..) http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...T/DSC03429.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...T/DSC03430.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...T/DSC03431.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...T/DSC03432.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...T/DSC03433.jpg |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I got another question for the HST Pro folks...
Right now I have a Muggy, Hyper ST Pro, and two MT's(LST2, and Savage..) I got the Muggy as a roller, and really like it, but right now I have a chance to sell it for a decent price. And something has to go.. Four trucks is simply too much.. I like my MT's though, and have too many parts for each to sell them.. Now, the complicated part is, I just don't know if racing will prove feasible for me... So, just skipping to the point.., if it turns out I won't be able to race, will the Hyper make a good basher?? I mean, going for BIG air, flips, but also running "for fun" on a track now and then when I get the chance.. I'm more of a basher at heart anyway, and I kind of suspect German over-seriousness will take the fun out of RC if I get into racing... I want a truggy though as a mix-up to go with the MT's.. I REALLY like the Muggy's toughness.. I kind of wonder sometimes though if I can get it to be as fast as I'd like to have it, cuz it likes to eat clutches etc... Anyway, Hyper ST Pro - to bash, or not to bash? |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
ok looks like I am not going to get any help from sink on his sweet carbon fiber truck bed so does anyone else know how I would get crisp paint lines in the groves of the truck bed with the carbon fiber look? getting ready to start masking the truck to get it ready to paint but could use some help in that area first. thanks

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
use the cheeze cloth stuff, used to line cabinets or drawers. one cote of silver through the holes, then gloss black over the whole thing. lighter silver works best, too thick it fudges a bit.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
ORIGINAL: j_blaze What do you think about these? i use the losi fiber disks, big one in the back little one in front, seems like they will last forever. just have to hit'em up with the dremmel a bit on the inside. |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
they are good, just need to dremel the inside hole a bit to get it to fit on the st. good luck.

Third place baby!! We had a 5 hour enduro race today at our track N-Control. Our team ran a Mugen MBX5 w/Go-Tech 3 port engine ($112 solid econo engine). Here is a pic of our team. Also, I took a pic with Dennis (2DmaxLST) & Coop (Crazy 4 Tmaxx). They drove in from San Antonio. Coop also runs a Hyper St Pro.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
hyper drove great this weekend, was third in the main when i lost a screw on the engine mount then grinded away my clutch/spur with a couple minutes left. i need to check ALL screws between heats and drive a little smoother, i got the hole shot but got my nose dug under a pipe and no marshall for about 10 seconds, so then i was last. so much fun though.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Nice color pbguns16. Good job Jblaze. I got the Dynamite pro linkages and it is raised on the one side. So this will take care of that issue. Next is to paint my body. When it gets alittle warmer here in the NE then I will tackle that. Can't wait to get this thing out on the track. Have to breakin the OS engine first thou.

|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Hey, which springs would I be able to use that are harder? I have 60wt in and just find it all around too soft. And I don't want to load up with spacers either...
I don't want to have to switch to harder oil either... Thanks.. |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Can someone who has the standard throttle linkage please post a picture - Im not to sure about it and could do with a picture to work from.
Cheers! :D |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Are the Kyosho big-bore shocks bigger than the Hyper shocks, and do they fit on the Hyper? I'm probably spoiled by my LST2 and Muggy shocks, but I don't like how tiny the Hyper shocks are.... Maybe I'm wrong, as I don't have experience running a "race-truggy" yet.. But I don't see those stock shocks standing up to big air and flips etc...
Now THESE are shocks... http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...y/DSC03575.jpg |
